The Kingslodge Inn

Pleasant staff and dog friendly. We had room 16 for 3 nights, 2 people and 1 dog. I would say it would make a decent size single room, storage was limited, no drawers. Room was cleaned only after the second night. The room was also very hot luckily there was a fan. Food was good and service was OK. Bar prices seemed quite high.

We had a lovely meal in the pub/restaurant. The setting was beautiful and the atmosphere very homely and relaxing. The food was really good, very fresh and served extremely quickly. We had great service from our waiter Luke and all of the other staff were also friendly and welcoming. Thank you - we will come again.

My son got married 24th August. Kingslodge was chosen, as this was the place he met his wife over 20 ago. The information was passed on at the time of booking the meal after the ceremony. Sadly no effort was made for the occasion. Not much was expected as it isn't a typical wedding venue. However touches like some flowers or candles would have made a huge difference. It was presented like an office do! I later heard the wedding night/ room had 2 single beds put together and again no other small touches.. Very disappointed and certainly won't go there again.The attending staff were polite and friendly and the food was acceptable.

really nice gatro pub with on suite rooms. Beautiful pub but my room was a bit compact for my liking, bed could of been a bit smaller to give more room. And bathroom could of done with a shelf as I had no where to put my toiletries. Apart from that it was very nice. beautiful pub garden and the shower had great pressure.

I'm a local so haven't stayed in hotel but come here àll the time for dinner the food is beautiful and five star. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and professional the souroundings are also beautiful. One of my favourite places to come to, thinking of staying here for my birthday in November, my son likes it too he has Asperger's so there's not many places he goes into but will here and has his favourite table where we always sit table 24.
Excellent service very reasonably priced very clean professional friendly.

26/09/22: Stayed here 4 enjoyable nights. Very clean rooms, friendly staff and great food. Ideal, quiet location for Durham and very dog friendly. Filling breakfast and we all enjoyed our evening meals. Would stay again.

Comfortable quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Continental choice & delicious cooked breakfast as well! Best egg florentine/Royale ever (see photos).
Shelf in the bathroom and extra space for towels would be a good addition to the room.

We enjoyed 3 nights at this hotel. The staff were really helpful and friendly, location was fantastic and parking easy. The food and service was really good. When we were there it was freezing outside but the hotel was lovely and warm as was our room. Excellent value for money. We would highly recommend. Thank you.
