The Old Hall Hotel

Had the most DELICIOUS dinner at The Old Hall. I ordered steak and ale pie, and my dad ordered the fish and chips. Both of our dishes had perfect flavour, and the service was excellent. Ambience was also spot on—cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant, and hope to come back again on future visits to the Peak District.

Lots of pale real ales and Old Peculiar. Food good an excellent steak and ale pie with good beer dripping chips, Chicken burger ok, fries warm, not hot.

Good atmosphere fairly busy on a Friday in November.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and at quite a reasonable price too. Perfect place for a pint or a warm after a day on the hills.

Visited on a cold damp Monday lunchtime in December, nice warm welcome by the barman and we chose a great table by the roaring log burner, perfect for ourselves and 2 Whippets after a walk.
We shared a Derbyshire sausage baguette and chips, which was delicious and the barman kindly bought us 2 plates and cutlery as we were sharing.......which turned out to be the right chose after a big breakfast as the portion size was more than ample.
Nice warm and inviting location with helpful friendly staff, would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for dinner after a long walk, the steak and ale pie is absolutely amazing! The best I've ever had! Nice selection of draught beers. Waitresses were a credit to the business, polite, good service, great ale recommendations! Will definitely return next time I'm in the area, and will definitely spend many nights dreaming about that pie, fabulous quaint little pub.

I've never stayed at the Old Hall but frequently call in for an Excellent pint of Old Peculiar and more often than not one of their very nice meals.
They have a great selection of Whisky as the pub owner seems to collect them.
The pub is muddy boot and dog friendly which is a win in my book.

We ate at the Old Hall Hotel after walking the Great Ridge/Mam Tor on Christmas Day. The atmosphere, food, drinks and service were all lovely. It's the first time in many years we've eaten out on Christmas Day and it was a very enjoyable experience. Sitting by the fireside was especially nice.

The staff were friendly, and the room was good (albeit the TV was a bit small)

But...

The Steak & Ale pie. WOW. WOW. WOW. It was amazing. Possibly the best pie I have ever eaten. So much meat. So tender. Totallt fantastic.
