The Hippodrome Hotel, Wetherspoon

Food not too bad but service has repeatedly been very poor. No apologies for food arriving before drinks to them running out of menu items so they try and cover it by putting a few extra chips on and don't tell you. Numerous weeks of poor standards now, won't be going back.

Rooms were lovely well equipped.
However, room was meant to be a family room, they had put 1 single bed extra into the room but there were 2 adults and 2 10 years olds. Because of this I think that the price paid for a "family" room with no breakfast is expensive. The breakfast food that we purchased was on the cold side and when spoke to waitress she shrugged, took food and microwaved it!. You could have put nails in with the toast it was that hard.

No hippo's but good service and a decent bacon sammich decor looks great well within keeping of the traditional hippodrome style of the 20's and 30's still don't like the plates lol blue flowers but over all good place to visit the bathrooms have james bond mirrors in so you can look like you're about to shoot someone with a walther ppk would definitely return if in the area

Lovely place good outside area close to amenities ie Tesco extra,Greggs,ect ect.food as good as most witherspoons rooms clean and tidy bathrooms clean and bed clean and comfy would stop again.

What a fabulous hotel, the room I stayed in was first class. Spotlessly clean & well appointed with everything you expect ie hair dryer, iron + board along with the tea & coffee. The bathroom was superb and large with a walk in shower etc and plenty of hot water. If you want food you go into the attached Wetherspoon's ,which is large and open for food from 7am to at least 9pm.

Lovely family room. Could have got three adults in the biggest bed. Two single beds and a sofa bed. Clean and spacious.

Great place to stay when visiting family in the area we had a family room very spacious our son slept fine on the pulled out sofa bed, our bed was very comfy. Bathroom was spacious. Had breakfast in the pub a couple of times no complaints only thing no kids in the bar after 9pm so one night we sat in the beer garden which was no problem. Would recommend. Also free parking in the car park opposite.

Really enjoy our stays here. Been back several times. Helpful staff, beautiful rooms, comfortable. Also having a weatherspoons next door means drinks and meals are easily sorted.
