Travelodge Taunton

Reception were all lovely. Close to the main city centre if you have a car. The room was a typical hotel room however the bed was incredibly unstable and the shower rails were hanging off the wall. The shower needs an update as it was old and the rooms really need air conditioning as they were really hot and uncomfortable to sleep. We also put the sign on the door for the room to be cleaned however this was not done. Overall alright place to stay overnight and not any longer can get a cheaper hotel for a higher value

Tidy,clean, basic room. They should consider putting in USB sockets.
Staff welcoming and friendly. Had a spot bother finding it!! Pub next door has unusual hours so we couldn't get meal, had to resort to McDonald's nearby!!

Room was cheap and bed was comfortable, but the hotel was grotty. The staff were unable to tell us about where to get food in the evening, and we were told there was a McDonalds near by. The carpet in the hotel was dirty, faded and lumpy, the walls looked like they have needed painting for a long time and the sheets did not seem very clean.

Ok for our need for reasonable price stay overnight near Taunton. Bed comfortable, decent shower & tv, pleasant welcome & help was available if we needed it. 7am rush hour traffic woke me up before I was ready as I had left window ajar for night time ventilation. After I shut window, noise reduced but couldn't get back to sleep.
You know what to expect from TL but independent b&b usually more interesting

Nice basic place to stay. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Tea coffee making facilities. Carpet could do with replacing and rooms updating. No restaurant or communal area which is a shame. Car park is a little small and got full really quick by the evening. Really good location with amenities nearby. Overall decent enough for a couple nights sleep.

If I could give no stars I would have.
The place is so run down I don’t believe that they have the nerve to charge you to stay. The carpets are a disgrace stained all over the bath was chipped the heating resets itself so you have to turn it back up.
The Staff were very helpful which is the only plus I am able to offer.
Yes it’s a budget hotel but there needs to be a review of the basic standard

Rooms are just ok. Carpets in hallways are really grubby and need replacing. Basic cheapish accommodation. Very near to retail park with Sainsbury's and other stores. Breakfast to go is a box containing orange juice, cornflakes, pain au chocolat and a flapjack. Parking outside.

I want to start off by saying that this is no fault of the staff, who were excellent. It is clear that they're being severely let down by higher-ups as the hotel was in a sorry state. The hallway and room carpets were stained and pulling up in large sections, posing a major safety risk, and the lighting was poor. There were also chips in the bathtub so it would be impossible to sterilise. Tried to contact head office as it's clear that they're holding off renovations as long as possible but they're impossible to get hold of without dialling a premium rate number or sending them post which they could very easily ignore. They don't want to know, and it's reflecting on the hotel staff who were great and don't deserve this. We used to stay here almost every year pre-Covid without issue but after seeing the disrepair that Travelodge as a business have let it fall into we will be staying somewhere different next time, as it was nowhere near the £110 my room cost for the stay.
