We - father, mother, two teenage sons, little girl - stayed here in 1969 and will never forget it. We were on a tour round England and Scotland in our Morgan in the winter, and came across Tillmouth Park in the dark when we were desperate for somewhere to stay. We had never known anything like it; South Africa didn't - and doesn't - run to Country Houses. It remains a wonderful memory of the kind of luxury from the past that one only reads about nowadays , though I see that very little has changed - thank you from a drought-stricken Johannesburg.

Absolutely quaint!! Warm inviting "home" with class and elegant decor. Staff is welcoming and proper, making you feel at home. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. The food is exquisitely prepared. My wife and I love this place and plan to revisit. Or retire near by.

Superb evening meal in the restaurant. Lovely service even being called Mr & Mrs, use of surname. A blast back to the eighties! Aperitif & coffee served in the lounge

Beautiful building. Unfortunately our room was in the top of the house. Three flights of stairs. No lift. This was not expected or explained when booking. Feel it should have been. Coloured our stay. We would not have stayed if we had known this. Not at all disabled friendly.any one with any health problems could not access the rooms. No mention of this on website. Food very good as was the service of the waiting staff. Bedroom poor with cheep plastic cups. Poor tea and coffee facilities. For the price definitely expect more. Cost of the room in know west reflected the room we were given.

Always an excellent stay. Superb staff, food and accommodation. You can't beat watching deer and hares pottering on the lawn. Give them a call and book in, you won't disappointed! (Website says hotel is closed but it is very much open for business!)
