Stayed over last weekend after my son’s wedding at this hotel. Room superb, breakfast even better.
Vey friendly and accommodating staff and particularly Franco and his team who deserve a 10 star!
The wedding meal for 80 was served hot and plenty of food.
The outside garden area well stocked with comfy furniture and bar to cater for us all.
Would highly recommend for wedding or just pop in for a drink and some food.

Like a favorite aunty. Someone that you remember with fond memories from your childhood, but is now showing her age.
From the narrow hallways where 2 people with cases going in opposite directions cannot pass each other unless one squeezes into a doorway, to bathrooms with old, antiquated taps, shower heads and pipework, and this with a bath to step into and not a shower unit. Bathroom floors where gaps are starting to appear between the tiles and the heat. The hotel does not have air con and it does not seem to matter when in the year you stay there, the corridors, the rooms and the restaurant are always so warm as to be almost unbearable. The rooms however, despite the heat are spacious and equipped with tea making equipment and a reasonable sized TV, but only UK channels are available.
Highly recommend NOT to use the lift. So often I have had issues with it. In the past my son's got stuck in it and the local fire brigade had to be called out to free then. With my last stay, the lift doors were very slow in opening and the thought going through my head was "please, don't let me get stuck here in this heat ".
It is always worthwhile booking with breakfast as their full English is wonderful. They also have a well stocked buffet for those looking for something a bit less. Despite an abundance of staff directing guests to a free table and bringing cooked breakfasts out from the kitchen, the service seems to be lacking something. Tea or coffee? Get it yourself from the urns at the buffet. Toast? Get it and toast it yourself at the machine at the buffet. This it's not always that easy, especially if your timing is a bit out and you arrive when many other guests are there.
Would I stay there again? YES, because it is close to my family, close to the town center of Dunstable and handy for transport connections, either to the motorways or by bus, train or flights.
Would I recommend it to others, NO, but would say that is my choice, others need to make their own minds up about this.

Stayed here for a wedding in nearby village, Good location near centre of Dunstable, and easy access from motorway. Plenty of enclosed on site parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Very nice, spacious rooms and good facilities, unable to find any faults really.

This could be a nice property but if they are hosting a wedding when you visit then you'll never find out. On arrival we found out that there were no dining facilities, no lift to reach the room nor anyone to assist with bags. Like many venues they were struggling for staff so getting served at the bar was a challenge.

The worst aspect had to be the complete lack of sleep possible with wedding guests making noise until 5am.

Following morning breakfast was set-up for mass catering with watery coffee served from a catering style vacuum flask. Cross-contaminated serving utensils even after advising staff of a mushroom allergy.

I sure with no wedding ongoing we may have enjoyed a completely different experience. I'd recommend checking at the time you book what else if planned in this hotel especially if you actually want any sleep.

Staff was absolutely lovely, but the rooms weren't very clean and the breakfast was not great. The noise level was also very high, we could everything the other rooms were saying. But the venue looked darling, and we did have a nice stay.

It's an old building but is beautifully decorated for the festive season inside. I loved the overall effort this hotel has gone to. Definitely a class above a budget hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. I would have given this review 5 stars in every area had the room had a mini toothpaste, mouthwash & hair conditioner. Why was I expecting that... well it had everything else. Even a fridge, tissues and bottles of water for guests use. The location is very central walkable to the local restaurants, pubs & stores. Breakfast is a good continental & cooked one. I would not hesitate to stay here again! PS. Loved the lights outside in the garden and there's free parking for guests. Sorry no photos this time my phone fell into a clean toilet 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lovely 'Olde English' hotel in Dunstable near to the ancient Priory Church. Steeped in history the building is a bit dark inside but very welcoming. Outside there is a lovely enclosed garden too. Restaurant provides good food, mostly traditional English, but that's its attraction for our group. We go quite regularly.

Room looked like needed modernising.
Bathroom radiator not working...not good when outside was in minus temperatures.
Was not able to stop Bathroom taps dripping/trickling....I did notify reception on check out.
Didn't have breakfast as I had to leave before serving started.
Evening meals, limited choice but nothing wrong with what I had
