Ellesmere Hotel

It is local to residents of Ellesmere. It has been renovated to an exceptional standard throughout. The staff & owners really are courteous & friendly. The restaurant has been comfortably set out with food freshly prepared when we have eaten there. If you just want coffee & a bar meal the bar area is bright & comfortable. This is a genuine review from an Ellesmere resident.

This is a very friendly place to eat and socialise, clean and tastefully decorated, toilets were immaculate ! The food was of a high standard and meals are of good size too,I had the chick pea curry of which tasted home made my hubby had the royal Oak burger,which was a large meal and fresh and tasty.

My single room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Slept really well, lovely bed! There was no hairdryer but Sandra soon provided one, as well as a non-slip mat for shower. Ate in the restaurant on the first evening, excellent meal.
I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying again. Everyone very friendly and welcoming.
This is not a criticism merely an observation that the provision of sanitary wear disposal bags would be useful if only to save client's and staff's embarrassment.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Free room upgrade when we arrived,massive room plus a sauna,big comfy bed,very clean and fresh.Bar downstairs friendly staff and good priced beer.highly recommend.

The room is fantastic, highly comfortable beds and beautiful shower facilities. But unfortunately on a Friday and Saturday nights all I can hear is the bar below my room.

Absolutely disgusting awful place, we walked in then walked out ,( just managed the broken concrete steps , health and safety need to be called

I've had numerous drunken outings here over the years. However I haven't been in for years. I was stunned by the changes, it's totally different since the very thorough modernisation and refurbishment. It's got plenty of choices of beers and the bar was busy. I tried several different ales and enjoyed myself that much that I can't remember leaving. Very good, well done to the people involved I like it.

I have been passing through Ellesmere for more years than I care to remember, and I've always fancied a evening out here. As I've passed through I've seen the Ellesmere hotel go through a transformation from being run down to a great looking establishment. So we took the plunge and booked a Saturday night here. The room was great with a modern bathroom and we enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning, especially when covid restrictions are relaxed. Although even with the current restrictions our visit to Ellesmere was very enjoyable
