We stayed in Little Pentre Barn Mon-Friday last week of July 2022. John was an amazing host even took the kids out on the tractor trailer. The imaginative helpful booklet which talks of goblins, crocodiles, and dragons made it extra special as the children tried to find them! Lots of thought has gone into it. The fire pit area ‘Dragon Henge’ was inventive and the pool was so much fun! We enjoyed exploring ‘Dragon’s Lair’, and the pond complete with crocodiles! The barn was full of bells, had DVD’s, games, and books and even an old fashioned coin metre for the electric, very unique and quirky. Fantastic week had by both adults and children.
Would highly recommend!

Me and my partner came down here for my birthday weekend in August 2022.

We stayed in the cute, cozy shepherds hut. It was absolutely amazing with beautiful views and the host, John, was superb. We will definitely be coming back down again very soon.

There’s a lot to do around the area, such as many different castles to see, pubs and restaurants and if you fancy the drive, we drove to Chester to visit Cheshire Oaks designer Outlet for the day.

Thank you again John. 👍🏻

I had the most lovely stay at the gin place, which was the perfect weekend get away.
I travelled alone from london and felt very safe and recalled during my entire stay .
The host John was super welcoming and the entire place was very clean and well maintained. Particularly enjoyed the private heated pool and the gorgeous appl from the apple tree .
Really Looking forward to going back.

Beautiful views, stunning garden/land to walk through morning and night. Pool was clean and we had great fun in it! Everything was clean, tidy and just cosy. So peaceful, left feeling so relaxed. Fire pits to toast marshmallows was great fun for my daughter. Great family place, or a couples retreat. John the owner was brilliant at suggesting things to do, as well as being a very friendly host, he let my daughter feed his chickens, and took her on a little tractor ride. Went above and beyond for a host! To sum it all up, peaceful, relaxing and beautiful!

Spent 2 nights here with husband. Total bliss. Didn’t want to leave.
The property was lovely with lots of character. Grounds were idyllic with so much nature to see and hear. Will miss picking apples from the tree outside our kitchen door to eat with breakfast and sitting in the dark gazing up at the stars sparkling in the sky.
The owners were friendly and welcoming. Fell in love with Maud the farm cat who had lots of love to give (especially when she was being fed kitty treats). Didn’t get chance to find out the chickens names but watching them every morning when I opened the curtains was wonderful.
Will be returning again and again and again.

I have nothing but good things to say about John and The Little Petre Barn, Stable, Gin Palace and Shepherds Hut.
We hired all of them for a big group booking.

John was absolutely amazing. He set us up a big fire at Dragons Henge and let us party until the early hours. He even joined us for a drink which was just lovely.

There was everything we needed! John had the most beautiful fruit trees which we could help ourselves to.

The location was outstanding and 10 out of 10 for the host.

We are all planning more trips with John! Thanks a million John 😊

This place is a real find! I’ve been raving to family and friends about this property. We stayed for just 2 nights and will definitely be back. The host is great with his communications and is focused on enjoyment of others. The grounds are fun with sign posts and places for kids to explore. We stayed in December - so really enjoyed making the barn cozy with the log burner. Wood and eggs are available on location to purchase. I was tickled with the hand book. ‘Washing up is for mugs’! With suggestions for eating out. (There is also a dishwasher)

We had a fantastic, relaxing, and comfortable weekend at the Little Pentre barn.
The views were breathtaking of the rolling hills and valleys.
The property is a converted barn quaintly decorated, with a roaring fire stove.
A double bed and two single beds upstairs gives three or four people more them enough room to have a comfortable night. Furnished in a traditional style with board games, DVD's and books for everyone to enjoy.
The owner John is an approachable decent guy, who can provide everything for the stove that you should require. John also gives tips and information about local attractions, pubs and a great breakfast location in Ellesmere.
Summing up, you would not want to go anywhere else for a quiet, relaxing stay at a great price in a warm comfortable property.
