We had a fantastic one night stay at this very premium hotel. From the moment you enter until the moment you leave the staff are fantastically attentive and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was high quality and what you would expect. Our room was in the main building and was a good size and had the most amazingly comfortable large 4 poster bed. We enjoyed the spa on our arrival and up until we left on our day of departure. I would love to be able to afford staying here more often but as a treat we'll worth every penny.

I booked a night in the hotel to catch up with my sister and get some well needed rest after being pregnant and having a baby during the early days of the pandemic. We didn't mind paying the price if it was worth it but sadly it wasn't. The room itself was okay, nothing special but the issue was that the AC didn't work. I've since read a few people complain about the same issue so the hotel knows it's a problem. I didn't get any rest or sleep, which I desperately wanted because the room was so hot! When I mentioned it to the receptionist in the morning, he was quite rude and said he would have given me a fan. Hotels with less stars and half the price tag have working ACs. I don't expect to need a fan in a room over four hundred pounds a night. His tone was also not very professional. The spa is nice but the service in the pool bar is awful as was the service in the restaurant. Overall I would say it wasn't worth the money and for that reason, I wouldn't recommend it.

I booked the Ultimate Afternoon Tea for my husbands birthday & it was delightful...and very substantial! I would highly recommend this over the standard afternoon tea, which is just as nice, but without the delicious champagne. It is a LOT of food so do ask them for a little box to take home some of the treats. You can order additional sandwiches and tea, although, we didn't need to.
The staff, ambience & decor are all very special & exactly what you would expect from a 5 star establishment.
I would either arrive early or stay a bit longer to walk around the grounds & appreciate the gardens. We hope to stay the night & enjoy the spa one day.

We booked an overnight stay and spa day.
We've been here for the spa before.
It was much better staying, as the whole spa experience was a lot more chilled out.
Really lovely place, staff are really friendly.
Absolutely love the spa and without a doubt the best spa you'll visit. A really large facility that's never overcrowded. There's plenty to enjoy and I've never left feeling disappointed

Visited with my daughter for afternoon tea on Monday. Staff on reception were super friendly but our waitress, Esperanza, was outstanding. Talk about 'service with a smile' and nothing was too much trouble for her. She is to be treasured, Pennyhill.
As for the afternoon tea experience...well, it needed a crowd to lend atmosphere, which was disappointing....felt rather like sitting in a foyer. Now, whilst the pasties were a delight to the eye, the bread on the sandwiches was far from fresh and as this was the opening course, not a great start. The palate cleanser was to my taste but not my daughter's, so perhaps a smaller portion and choice of 2?
All in all an experience, but unfortunately not one I shall rush to repeat.

It was a business trip. As I was not paying, I cannot attest to value for money. The room was spacious, airy and comfortable. But the hotel's faux English cottage design I found somewhat oppressive. The location was fine, but key cards limited where you could roam, making one feel entrapped. Reception was understaffed and overwhelmed. For example, they were unable to communicate with and coordinate booked taxi drivers, causing me to miss my train. The food was excellent.

Excellent venue and amazing facilities. The spa manager Charlene was extremely welcoming and really looked after my wife and I. Our therapists were great and the treatments extremely relaxing! Thank you to Charlene, Annabelle and my wife's therapist (sorry don't know your name!)

I have stayed here a few times. This time it didn't feel a 5* experience, more a low 4. I was in one of the rooms outside of the main house which felt tired and not the quality I expected for the price, more what you would expect from a bog standard conference facility. The staff didn't seem their usual polished and inviting selves and the snug area with the fire place looked ransacked with chairs scattered everywhere, with a sofa that had seen better days. The lighting is always so harsh, particularly when you want to relax and enjoy the fire - you just want to dim everything down to make it more inviting.

On the plus, the beds are always luxurious and the breakfast is always incredible. The spa is the main reason why I visit but would perhaps think of just going for a spa day rather than a stay in future as the spa never disappoints.
