Maybe our expectations were too high, coming for a lunch. The house is fascinating, but the menu did not match setting. Service was first rate and we were looked after extremely well. Unfortunately the food was relatively plain and overpriced. It was sad to see the formal gardens looking very unkempt, which maybe due to staff shortage and or the dry spell, preventing trimming of hedges. All of which are understandable, but sadly a group of 6 people, after eating lunch, moved onto the terrace and proceeded to play music on a personal speaker system, destroying the tranquility. I am only assume that the staff were too polite to say anything. Overall a disappointing visit, that we won't be repeating.

We had our wedding at Danesfield House and it really was the most amazing day from start to finish. The venue is spectacular, and all the staff were so friendly and hard working. Despite a heat wave the day went off without a hitch thanks to all the Danesfield staff, and the guests loved the food, thank you to all the Danesfield team!

Stunning location, building and grounds. Overall a wonderful experience. Two reasons I dropped a star: 1. We asked to change to a room with A/c but the A/c appeared not to work or was very innefficient; 2. I wasn't that impressed with the waiter served breakfast which was slow. I'm not blaming the staff who were attentive & helpful, but a self service breakfast would be much more efficient and give greater choice.

The staff are many, efficient and you feel really well cared for. The views from the terraces and garden are lovely. We'd booked a classic room, definately worth upgrading from that if you can. Spa is lovely, had a fab facial, wonderful outdoor sun terrace there too. They'd had a wedding on the night before so when I went for an early morning swim and had the pool completely to myself. Heaven. Dinner there £55 for 3 courses was outstanding.

Stayed for two nights and there were cobwebs in the room. When reported to reception was told someone would be in touch to sort this out. No one, did. When reminding reception and being told they would sort this out , still nothing. Having phoned them asking why no one got in touch i was told they will make sure the manager will get in touch, still nothing. Guess they were too busy. Giving two stars as the hotel does have redeeming features with the setting and most staff were nice.

Went to celebrate our engagement and very disappointed with the service. Although the room was large, it was very cold with no extra blanklets or adequate heating. Food was delicious (when it arrived). Spa was good and views from the hotel were lovely. We won't be returning.

Fantastic country house, with great views over the countryside, rooms are well equipped and spacious, the food is on par with the best restaurants around and the staff are a delight, always willing to take the time to ensure you have the best of stays. I would have stayed here for the full week if I was able to, but a long weekend visit was a wonderful experience, I definitely want to go back soon.

Lovely spa but expensive, so made a great birthday treat. Good sizes pool, jacuzzi, steam and pool rooms. Really helpful staff. Great breakfast and evening meal. Marlow a great little town too!
