Absolutely stunning stay at this little retreat on the Welsh/Shropshire border. Delighted to be told about it by a friend who has stayed. Beautiful food, great surroundings and just all round lovely place. We walked in the nearby wood and enjoyed taking our dog out. He was allowed in our room and in the bar until 6pm. Staff were lovely and highly recommend the champagne room with beautiful spa bath and lovely shower.

Couldn't fault this gem of a hotel. Our suite was more like a chalet than a suite. Everything was catered for and more besides. The restaurant is absolutely superb with incredible attention to detail. Thank
you for a wonderful stay. We'll be back.

Brilliant hotel overlooking Wales. Excellent room called 'Lower court'. Our bedroom was in a block of three. I believe it was converted from stables? The door was a stable door that did not fit together and a lovely icy draught kept our feet icy cold, which added to the excitement of staying in a wet and dismal area. The whole room took on a look of the 1940's as the two chairs were almost as comfortable as a stone wall. But the food was excellent and made up for all the other discomforts. Only sad that they seemed to have run out of potatoes for the main meal every evening and the broccoli was all uncooked, but every meal had broccoli so we did get used to it. The whole experience was uplifting and we did laugh at hearing the mice at night in the loft. A great four nights in such a lovely cold hotel made us realise that we could not wait to get home.

We stayed in the Valley Suite for our honeymoon and everything was perfect from start to finish!

We needed somewhere that allowed dogs, catered for vegans and had a bath and Pen-y-Dyffryn had it all. The service was exemplary and the food was outstanding.

Thankyou for making our stay very special.

A tranquil retreat, absolutely no traffic noise, just listen to the silence punctuated by bird song. The setting is second to none with lovely picturesque views and a well maintained garden. The friendly staff combine a relaxed atmosphere with good service and the restaurant serves excellent food and wine. The rooms are comfortable and each is individually decorated and furnished. The formula is unique, to be quite honest, probably the best hotel I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay in.

Lovely evening. The staff were very attentive and the food far exceeded that of the local competition; however, if was a little dated in its presentation and style. Although the wine list lacked half bottles, there was a good selection by the carafe or the glass, which makes it slightly easier for the ageing hedonists. We'll be back very soon.
