Location good. Central high street . I stayed here for 2 nights. I was glad of the shower which was nice bed was comfortable, but the bathroom had no blind felt odd seeing as it was on looked just a net curtain, it was def shabby and outdated, and things like the cups dirty and toilet brush made me think it’s just not worth the £100 especially with no breakfast. I wouldn’t stay here again. I expect it’s a stop out place for being drunk or functions there: the place is old and rest of it seemed nice as a venue with Bills restaurant downstairs. Room just outdated and cringy. Fan was provided as very hot weather which I was grateful for. Scotland (originally from Surrey). Female 48 Single .

Great location in the heart of Guildford. There was a problem with the breakfast due to staff illness but it was handled brilliantly. Hotel staff worked with the staff from Bill's the restaurant and bar. The result was we were extremely happy and had a great breakfast.

The room was lovely. However the hotel has a cabaret bar in the middle of the first floor landing - with its open rear door right outside our room door. To be fair it quietens at 11pm, but before that it was annoyingly noisy even with our door shut.

The Charlotte Suite was very nice. Becky was very professional and welcoming. Excellent location. Parking is available at the nearby Tunsgate Car Park. It is a short walk.

There is a cocktail and cabaret bar in the middle of this hotel, it is incredibly loud and in extremely close proximity to all rooms. The rooms are a good size as are the beds but you won't be getting to sleep anytime before midnight.

Ancient and quaint place to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. Very convenient location, 10min walk from train station.

Rated four star by the AA which I think is generous but nonetheless a lovely old, even historic, hotel that various past luminaries have visited including Charles Dickens and Lady Chatterley. Extremely convenient to everything in Guildford being located in the middle almost of the High Street. Front facing rooms are single glazed and quite noisy. Comfortable and clean.

Room was a bit tatty a needed a spring clean. Shower didn't work (no water at all) and bath barely worked (took 5 mins to run a few cm of water). Fair bit of noise in the morning as metal tables and chairs were dragged around in the street outside. WiFi intermittent.

Good central location. Comfy bed. Person on reception friendly and welcoming. Interesting, historic building.

Note: No breakfast or parking if that's important to you. Also given very old building, access to some rooms would be tricky if you have mobility issues (uneven floors, low ceilings, unexpected steps, winding stairs).
