The location was great for what I needed, staff were lovely & friendly. My room was ground floor so I had a wet room instead of a normal bathroom & other features obviously meant for those with additional needs which was fine. Decor was a little tired but clean & lots of room in the bedroom. For the price & that I had booked last minute it was great.

Nice quiet location for my trip to a friends funeral. Staff are lovely as are the rooms. Breakfast and dinner were taken in Brewers fare next door food was good and fresh.

The location was convenient, the rooms were clean . Service was good, when we asked for more tea and towels, we were provided with this. Brewers Fayre next door for a full buffet breakfast, unlimited quantity £9.50
Value for money.

Always stay at the Spitfire when travelling North - have done so for years.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast has lots of choice and is cooked to order. Hypnos bed is just wonderful.
Spotlessly clean room and facilities. Ten out of ten.

I stayed over the weekend of the 10th to the 12th of December. The disabled rooms are good and they will arrange a raised bed for you if you need it. My bed slipped off the raised feet in the early hours of Sunday morning. The duty receptionist came and put it back on the feet. To the surprise of us both there were m&ms scattered under the bed from a previous occupants. They looked like the had been there for some time. The beds are on castors and fairly easy to move. I feel it should be part of the cleaning schedule to clean under the beds. They should have seen them when they lifted the bed on to the "Elephants feet" when preparing the room. I normally have a good stay at this hotel but will be checking under the bed the next time I visit.

Friendly welcome, clean and comfortable. Had a similar experience next door at the brewers fayre for a couple of drinks on arrival. Very convenient location just off the M6.
