Holiday Inn Guildford, an IHG Hotel

Had a great stay. All the rooms are amazing and the beds are comfortable. The swimming pool was amazing to cool off in after a long journey. The food was expensive but amazing, with the added bonus of kids eat free. Would definitely stay here again.

Despite a recent refurb it was tired in many places. Reception, lobby, bar and dining area (including Al fresco area) were all very nice. The staff were charming and friendly and the food was well presented and clearly they're making an effort.

The rooms were very standard fare though. The carpet along the corridors was worn and tired and once away from the lobby, well it was just an old holiday inn. The air con was welcome, but the bathroom was dated, tiles were dirty in the corners, no loo brush (why is that in budget hotels - I prefer to be able to leave the loo clean), the shower was, well odd, but it did work in my room. My colleague wasn't so lucky. Cold shower for him! Bed was comfy and linen was clean.

Dont get me wrong, the staff were helpful and friendly and professional. They deserve a better standard to work in.

Hopefully the rest of the hotel rooms were better? Who knows.

Well, what a wonderful experience. We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Chessington. We managed to get a package deal with the hotel and park tickets. The rooms were lovely and clean, well ventilated and they also had air Conditioning which was a massive bonus. A 20 minute drive to Chessington, so not too far.
The breakfast was just beautiful with a huge range of food. Cooked breakfast and continental breakfast included. The evening menu was also lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The staff were fantastic and couldn't help or advise any more if they tried. An all round lovely atmosphere at the hotel, and the pool and spa facilities were brilliant!!

Stayed for a business trip. Friendly staff and warm welcome in a modern and fresh reception.

In the same area was a large bar and dining area, all I suspect refurbished recently.

The room however, although clean and tidy was dated and certainly not refurbished. Old looking bath with dated shower and poor looking grout. Certainly in need of a refresher.

Pool area ok but again felt tired and unloved. Could be so much more

Breakfast was served in the dining area and was very well presented and very enjoyable.

Overall nice hotel but with rooms that are in need of a refresh.

Such a shame that our first impression was not favourable, due to a 40-minute wait for our rooms - and we didn’t get two rooms together as requested. Not enough towels in the family room. Children were not allowed in the pool until 4pm, which wasn’t stated on the website, which meant more wasted time.
Not enough sockets for phone, hairdryer and kettle, nor enough bathroom hooks for bags, robes and towels. Wardrobe hanging space was minimal. Noise from the main road was noticeable but not intrusive - the plus being that it was central for guests.
The bed was comfortable, and the window opened (albeit not wide for safety reasons). The shower was good.
By far we were most impressed with breakfast, which was ample, well-replenished and tasty. Definitely five stars for this.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and modern. Lovely staff who were so kind and friendly.

We also used the swimming pool and the sauna which was nice. You can also get massages there. We got the deep tissue massage which was very relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time.

Dinner was fantastic- very pleased with the quality of the food.

Breakfast was good.

Would stay here again. Highly recommended!!

I had never stayed in a Holiday Inn even though we have a local one near home. I have to say the effort to accommodate me was amazing, I was driving a large van with a big trailer and they were able to sort me a triple space even though it was against their car parking policy.
The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, the rooms were well equipped, clean and the bed was very comfortable, there was no outside noise and the heat and pressure of the shower was amazing.
Dinner and breakfast were both very good, fresh and very tasty.
I can highly recommend the Holiday Inn in Guildford for anyone looking for a decent place to stay.

Had an amazing time with my husband. We celebrated our 23rd year as a couple here. Staff were very antentive, super helpful and friendly. We were extremely happy with the service! It exceeded our expectation and would like to thank all the staff especially at the restaurant. They were very helpful and kind. We loved everything! The massage treatment we had was also fantastic! Highly recommend this place for a romantic night or two away.
