Travelodge Newcastle Under Lyme

Nice enough Travelodge in the heart of Newcastle under Lyme rooms are pretty standard and by the first floor reception you have the bar and restaurant.
There is a Lidl next door which is convenient and is helpful as they share a large car park

Ideal budget hotel for a base when visiting the many tourist attractions in the area. Short walk into Newcastle and good public transport links to Stoke or Keele universities. Although close to a main road the rooms were quiet and very clean. Nice greeting on arrival. Didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on the service or quality of food.

Lady upon arrival was very friendly and welcoming which made us feel at ease. The rooms are just what we needed and are very clean. Fantastic for the price.

Located right in town next to lidl. Great recently refurbished room. Exactly what we needed for a little get away. Lady at reception was very bubbly and helpful.

Well located for town centre and shops. There's a Lidl next door. Rooms basic but clean, nice bathroom. Very reasonable prices for a room. The 4g reception is poor in most rooms so buying their WiFi is worth it at £3 for 24hrs.

Was put on recently refurbished room level 5...New carpets ..decor nice...very clean warm and great welcome. Would recomend

Had we being staying for only one night obviously we would not comment on the cleaning service, we spent 7 nights there during Christmas 2022,not once was the bathroom sink or toilet cleaned during our stay,which I found terrible,once would have been sufficient.
On our last day,when having breakfast, two guys off the street entered the restaurant for breakfast one of them took all of the sauces etc off one of the tables and stashed them in his pocket and the other man acted really accelerated and didnt leave much to the imagination the kind of lifestyle he led,it was quite intimidating. For a 'lodge' to try and maintain some kind of quality this definately isnt the way to go. Thankfully these two walked in only on our last day.
Breakfast was the same everyday,but if you are only staying for one night then thats fine.
Good points about this place:-
Lidl next door.
Situated right in the town centre.
Very comfortable beds and pillows.
Comfortable room temperature,didnt really need to use the radiator.
Staff were really very friendly.

For a 1 or 2 night stay I would recomend the place but certainly not for a week.
To be staying for a longer duration better to stay in a 'hotel'.
P.S. the Lodge should invest in toilet brushes,they really do come in quite useful.

Clean and everything you need. Not very stylish but for a basic stay it’s perfectly fine. Above a Lidl which is convenient and nice takeaways and restaurants in the area too.
