We didn’t stay at the hotel, we just dropped into the cafe.
The coffee was the best I’ve had for ages and Juliana let us have a pick from the continental breakfast table as they were finishing off. So this is praise for the welcome, the service and gray coffee

In total it was a good experience, but not perfect and with a bit of a rocky start.
We are two couples in a short trip and had two nights in the place. We arrive late (11pm) and there was no parking saved (even though are rooms included one), there was no receptionist, and the night manager didn't answer. If you need one write it in advance. The parking in the street was free up to 10am, and in the morning the receptionist did help and arrange one for us.
The room is nice, not the most clean but with all the facilities. The king size bed is a 'british king size bed' which is a bit smaller.
The location is great, 15 minutes walk from the city center.
The cafe is great, wonderful food, big portions and a lot of options.

Lovely friendly, hard working, helpful and professional staff. We were a little disappointed with the continental breakfast. But, the Caffè staff were lovely and very busy. Very quiet location within ten minutes walk into the centre.

We stayed here for a couple of nights during our honeymoon. Our priority was proximity to City Center, and Ethos worked out perfectly. We were 5 minutes from Folly Bridge, 10 minutes from Christ Church Cathedral, and 20 minutes from George St - all imminently walkable.

The hosts were helpful and engaging. We arrived earlier than expected, and they worked to accommodate us as quickly as possible. The helped us with taxis and parking (Be aware that parking is severely limited in the center of Oxford. Pay the extra fee for a spot with Ethos. And anticipate delays in your taxi/Uber arrival.) After we told them we were on our honeymoon, they cobbled together some balloons, some chocolates, and hand wrote a sweet note and slipped it all into our room before we checked in.

Stayed at The Ethos Hotel last Friday night as I was staying in Oxford to see Bob Dylan at the New Theatre. Lovely hotel in a quiet street, theatre a 10 minute walk away. Nice room with a very comfortable bed. Nice clean en-suite bathroom with a powerful shower. Very tasty breakfast in The Ethos Cafe the following morning. And really lovely, friendly receptionist who within 5 minutes of me arriving had left the hotel to show me where to park my car, brought a map to my room to show me how to get to the theatre and even complimented me on the boots I was wearing! Receptionist the following morning was also very friendly and polite. If I stay in Oxford again I will definitely stay at The Ethos.

My room for one night in late November was spacious, clean, comfortable and very well appointed, including a kitchenette. Staff checking me in and out were friendly and helpful, and they held my luggage for me for a half-day after checkout while I toured Oxford.

While the neighbourhood appears safe and I had no concerns over security, I should point out that my room was at pavement level, and I entered it directly from the sidewalk. If that's a concern for you I suggest you ask in your reservation for a room that's entered from inside the hotel proper.

The café across the street is affiliated with the hotel, and I was offered £20 credit as a hotel guest (excluding alcohol). It's a cute low-key place with a nice staff and local clientele, at least when I was there. It was a good place to recharge after a day of travel and before heading out into Oxford.

Nice staff lovely set up like little apartments with great facilities.
Only grumble is there was 2 single mattresses on a king size base and no spare loo roll which is not ideal when you run out in the middle of the night!
Very close to the city center with limited parking that needs to be reserved ahead of your stay.

We were arriving on New Years Eve. The hotel receptionist called to say the office would be closing and they would email instructions for the room and for parking.

The email arrived with two attachments and a phone number for the night manager in case of any issues. There was an issue, the parking instructions attachment was corrupted. It was cold, rainy, we had no idea where to park and being from the US we had no idea of the parking regulations in Oxford, England. We called the night manager 20 times, the manager never picked up the phone. I emailed, no one ever responded. It was very stressful and upsetting.

The positive is the rooms were fine and the lady who ran the cafe was very lovely and apologetic.
