Perfect location to explore the town. Room is a bit tired and aerial had been pulled out of the connector. Service was very good. Pool/sauna/steam room and jacuzzi were lovely. I will definitely be staying here every time I am in Chester

Staff very helpful and good facilities within hotel. Communal areas are very tidy and spacious. Room were nice and spacious and appointed with anything you could need, immaculately clean too, star lost for the room just being a bit tired, bathroom and room furniture could do with an upgrade or replacement. Nice little pool and sauna/steam

I stayed for 4 nights and wish I could have extended my stay. Unfortunately, the day I was due to check out was also the day a conference was to take place, so no extra rooms were available at that time. My room was very nicely furnished and spacious as well. I requested to be placed in a quiet area, and the nice staff fulfilled my request by assigning me a room in their “quiet zone” of the hotel, a feature I didn’t realize they offered. The heating unit against the wall didn’t function properly on my first night (needed it as it had suddenly turned cold), so one f the staff members brought a portable space heater which very much helped. The breakfast offered each morning was very tasty and varied, and I enjoyed my dinner on the two occasions I ate at the hotel. One of the dining managers, Roberto, stands out for his friendliness and professionalism. Also, at the reception desk, Kim was very helpful and polite, and I wish to mention Elisa and Enock as well for their helpfulness and friendly attitude. My only complaint would be the pool. I was told it was heated, but I found the water to be too cold. Also, I didn’t like the fact that this pool was open to the general public as well as to the hotel guests. I think it should be used only by the hotel guests.

The hotel foyer, reception and restaurant and bar area is elegant. The hotel and reception staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Shoutout to Kim and Ruthie. It was my partners birthday and they all made it an extra special day. Unfortunately, the hotel room was very dated. Old fashioned radiators, magnolia walls, there was no main light you had to switch on all the lamps for lighting, old fashioned furniture and carpets but the sleep quality is good. The bathroom was nice.

What a brilliant hotel. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable, really good service. A glass of fizz on arrival, great recommendations by lady Concierge. Great decor throughout the hotel nice bar area, very comfy seats. Rooms generous sized, clean. Free WiFi, fridge, safety deposit box, TV, and air con in rooms. We didn't use the pool or spa facilities. Great location. Car parking £10 day. Highly recommended.

Poor to distinctively average, at best.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location, which is literally a couple of minutes walk from the historic centre of Chester. The reception area is quite impressive but that's where the positives end.

1. Parking - for a hotel with probably in the region of 450 rooms, the car park has about 30 spaces. After getting a Ford Ranger up there, we realised it was full (no signs to say so at street level), so had to perform a 15 point turn to get back out. On calling reception to ask "what now", they basically said 'tough' and to try one of the next nearest car parks - which were all equally carnage AND expensive.
If you have a lot of baggage you need to dump it at the doors first before you go exploring for a car park.

2. Club/Lounge Access - our room was booked for us as a gift, but apparently we had access to the lounge. We weren't told about this at check in (what it included) and only stumbled across it the night before we checked out. We stood trying our key at the lounge for a few minutes before giving up, so a complete waste of money.

3. Bathroom - Shower Gel bottle was empty in our shower throughout our stay.
The bottom of the bath was grubby, with a brown tinge.
Bulbs flickered in both the bathroom and bedroom.
The shower was useless. You'd have been better stabbing a hole in the bottom of a bucket.
Dirty grout between bathroom tiles.

4. Room - Dated, tired and cold (despite having the air con on 'heat').
Mouldy windows with condensation.
What looked to be blood splatter on the wall above the TV (really nice).
Only 1 or 2 plugs at table height, the rest on the skirting board.

5. Not asked once on check out if we'd enjoyed our stay - I thought that was a fairly basic thing.

If I was visiting Chester again I would 110% choose a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge over this place.

we stayed at the hotel for one night last weekend and it was perfect. The location is great and just a stones throw from the city centre. We got a queen size room and it was nice and spacious, clean and modern. The spa facilities were excellent and included in the stay and the breakfast was really good. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay for a weekend break

Clean roomy hotel in an excellent location for exploring all Chester has to offer. We particularly enjoyed the Spa and spacious Hotel Bar, which provided a lovely space to meet up for a drink before heading out for the evening. Must mention the staff too.....all were pleasant and very helpful throughout our stay.
