So I should start by saying I was very hesitant to book this hotel because so many of the reviews here say it is terrible. I stay in hotels 200+ nights a year and so I see the good, the bad and the terrible. This hotel is not terrible.

PROS
The room was dated but clean. The bed linen was comfortable and not overly worn out. The bathroom was clean and it was easy to get hot water and good pressure from the shower. The area is very quiet and feels safe. There is a supermarket next door (note - closes 8pm) which sells a good variety of things, and there are a mix of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The window can be opened to allow fresh air in. Check-in was very simple and the receptionist was very friendly.

CONS
The bed is a little less than comfortable, the springs were sticking up through in many places and it sunk in the middle. The shower gel dispenser in the shower was empty. There are no controls for air conditioning or heating. The note other people make about keycards is definitely true - mine failed on numerous attempts (tip: keep trying, mine always worked eventually).

I didn't have breakfast so I have no idea what sort of quality that is.

In summary, I'd have no problem staying here again on business trips for a night or two. But I would not want to stay here for longer trips or with a partner.

I stayed here recently during a night out in Aylesbury. It’s close enough to the town centre and theatre to be a quick walk away when the night is finished, but in a quiet location overlooking the canal.

We had a room that overlooked the canal basin. By the looks of things all rooms overlook the canal, so nice views wherever you are. It’s also very quiet. We slept with the window open on a Saturday night and weren’t disturbed at all.

Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly.

Really can’t fault it for what we needed.

I stayed here for one night. I was received by 2 very nice and friendly ladies, Alison and Sofie.
I had a small issue with my room and Sofie was great, took me to see another room to make sure I was happy with everything before changing rooms.
Yes, the rooms are a bit old and could do with an update but everything was very clean.

Canteen staff were lovely and helpful and kind. Food was good. Bed linen changed only when you leave...as short staffed. Next to canal and cinema and theatre. Waitrose around the corner
Bit pricey in comparison to other hotels in Aylesbury.

The service and people that work their absolute friendly and lovely. If you have any trouble you can rely on them. And beds are comfortable and there are extra pillows in case the two isn’t enough. Happy to stay here again.

Fab stay. But can't give enough praise for the reception person who looked after us on Friday 2nd. She was so lovely nothing was too much trouble and lashes to die for

You have to park in the multi storey car park. £1 per hour up to 21.00. Room was in a refurbished floor so new paint job and carpet. Fire alarm went off at 10pm. It's OK for a travelodge but the parking a bit of a pain. Tap in the bathroom not fitted properly

I booked a room for my mum and I wouldn't let her stay there again. The rooms are all worn out. The one good thing is the staff are brilliant there and I could not fault them what so ever.
