Days Inn by Wyndham Taunton

CONS
Shower temperature was very hot or very cold.
Double mattress felt like a water bed. (Good or bad depending on prefrence.)
Weird smell in room.
Tired decor.

PROS
Allowed dog.
£60 was cheap (compared to travel lodge, prem inn etc) Worth it for a one night stop over.
Services near by.
Clean Kettle.
Room and linen was clean if a little dusty.
Quiet nights sleep.

OVERALL
Get what you pay for. Pretty good value for a one night stop over on the way to main holiday destination.

My wife and I stopped at the Days Inn Taunton June 2021 and received a parking fine even though it's free parking and we had given our vehicle reg in at check inn. I provided a copy of the PCN and the booking confirmation proving that I stopped over at the hotel the night of the parking fine and I have been told countless times from Days inn staff that it has been cancelled. However, my wife and I are still receiving threating texts and letters from their debt collectors. It's getting ridiculous now as it's over a year on from when we stopped and their admin team still have not got this sorted. Avoid this hotel at all costs as it's really not worth having to deal with this stress.

It's a motorway service station hotel, so the main reason for using it is convenience. It's a bit run down, but we found it clean, the facilities (wifi, TV, bathroom etc) in working order, and the staff friendly and helpful.

We couldn’t get to sleep because of banging doors. Banging ringing out through the floor all night as if heavy items were being dropped on the floor. Could hear TV’s and talking till 02:00 from other rooms. Then someone came in, banging doors and talking loudly at 03:00. If we said we got an hours sleep all night it would be an exaggeration. In the end, we got up and left at 05:00.

I had three nights staying here I’m room 22 for work, ok the rooms are a bit dated and tired shame it’s next to the services, as only McDonald’s to eat in the eve. But I must say the showers were lovely n hot, room was spotlessly clean, for me the bed was dead comfy, I slept very well indeed. The girl behind reception was fantastic and helpful too and a credit to days inn.

Really dated with some appliances being rusty. WiFi doesn't work in the rooms. Heating is poor in the rooms. Hair on the towel so cleanliness is not great. However the location is good for travelling

A good Hotel.
Followed the way there by Google maps and came off at junction 26.
There were many narrow roads leading to the Hotel.
I would recomend, if your driving up from the south, would be to come off at junction 27 and then Google the directions.
No access to Taunton unless you drive or book a taxi.£24 return..

SatNav tried to bring me in the back. This is a service station hotel. Is tired but WiFi works, showers are hot and the beds are clean so for £45 it is good value.
