Good location, parking is good. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The use of the back door to the road was useful, so we did not have to walk through the pub. Room was very clean, quite small, fine for one night, but anymore than that, you would need more space. We would stay again, but would probably want a room, in the separate block to the pub. Breakfast was not given as an option, but did see that other rooms had it. Plenty of lovely tearooms to support so not a problem.

The Innkeeper's Lodge had a very friendly staff. They were friendly and provided everything needed, including sufficient cleanliness of the rooms. There's a nice car park, and the location allows for walking distance to all the shops, Peveril Castle, and Peak Cavern - literally just minutes of walking distance.

Our room, in one of the detached buildings, provided quite the space and comfort.

Breakfast offered a nice selection of items. I did not have dinner here, though. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Castleton.

Edit: This review has been edited due to my mistake of writing about another location.

The inn was attractive and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
Meal in restaurants in evening very disappointing. Sunday menu but no roasts available and menu very limited as had run out of food! We had been advised to come to table earlier than we had booked(7.30) as they thought they may be short on food supplied. We arrived an hour earlier than booking yet still found this was the case!

The standards of cleanliness at the castle has declined over the last year or so.

I was stood waiting for over 15 minutes at the check in desk.

Lots of tables with finished glasses on them. Smell of stale beer throughout the building.

Room was was clean and of a good size, but I expect that for £145 per night.

We were told by correspondence that breakfast starts at 7am.
Only to arrive to a locked building.
We didn't have time to wait and therefore didn't have breakfast although paid for.

What a beautiful stay.
Came for our 20th year anniversary.
Asked if they could do something special for us, a lovely bottle of prosecco waiting for us in our room.
Lovely pub and rooms.
Wonderful food, we booked a table for tea and breakfast. Really enjoyable.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Rooms so clean, cosy, you wouldn't think you was sleeping on top of a pub, so quiet.
Lovely little view of the castle from our window.
Would highly recommend staying here, I can't wait to come back. Fabulous location and carpark.

The room was really nice. Like with most hotels, space for clothes and other bits, was a bit lacking. The room was very warm. The bathroom was a bit small in the toilet area and I knocked the loo roll off it's holder more than once and elbowed the sink. There was plenty of space for toiletries though and the complementary handwash and shower gel/shampoo was nice. Everything was clean, the cleaner was friendly and had a sense of humour and left a biscuit for my daughter's toy panda which we all laughed at and appreciated. The decor was nice. The breakfast was really nice and the breakfast staff were all friendly.

Our total experience was perfect. We arrived early and had a coffee in the bar. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were amazing. Very clean and spacious. Great shower above the bath. The evening meal had lots of choice and very tasty. Breakfast the same. Lots of veggie options too. Enjoyed the late check out. Thought the price was very affordable. Would highly recommend. Best regards. Dee Waterworth

It is a lovely spot and a nice hotel. For the price we thought the room was OK, but a bit pricey, particularly since we were on the roadside, so it was VERY noisy throughout the night really, both from outside and inside. The bathroom extractor stayed on for absolutely ages, the heater was set/designed to simply flow the heat behind the window curtains...the coffee was horrible cheap stuff - a cafetiere and some decent coffee would be much better.
