The location is great! The hotel/restaurant/bar staff were delightfully friendly and helpful at all times. Our only concern was access to the rooms, as the stairs are quite steep and winding; we managed ourselves, but someone with mobility issues would struggle.

Excellence, we were very happy with our choice to stay here. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. You can tell they take pride in their hospitality. The bar is comfortable and has an excellent atmosphere for a late night drink by the fire

Super friendly, ordered at bar brought them over and opened a tab. Location was fine strange that no door on the road side. Be decent once the scaffold is gone and the roof is back on.

We got a very late email stating that there is major exterior refurbishment work going on at the inn.
This was meant to be an extra special stay for my husbands birthday. We went up to the room and the hallway smelt foisty and the room itself smelt of stagnant drains and mould. The stack pipe for the bathroom is inside. The room was fairly small too for the money.

It was just a really pleasant easy stay, the pub was nice inside and spacious, the room we were in was more than ample and clean, comfy bed, well heated etc. Check out at noon is always very welcome. Most importantly the staff were super friendly and approachable

We arrived at hotel about 4.30ish so it was dark and cold outside. We got our key went to our room only to find it was really cold and radiator was off ,we looked about for a thermostat but couldn't find one. We decided to go to the bar as it was nice and warm and had a nice atmosphere, we asked the lady behind the bar about the heating ,she said it was to do with the heating prices so were trying to save money, which is fair enough, aren't we all.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and a few drinks ,when we went back to our room it was lovely and warm,so we were expecting to settle down and have a good night's sleep, how wrong were we.There was a continual noise all night which we couldn't work out where it was from .we thought it might be something to do with the heating, we felt after we had asked for it to be put on we didnt want to complain ,
So we had a sleepless night .however in the morning we noticed that our room was directly above a linen room, which was where the noise was coming from, extractor fans no doubt. We had breakfast in the morning which was nice, when booking out the guy who took our key asked if we had enjoyed our stay,we said it would have been better had we had some sleep.we explained about the noise and he said "oh they are meant to be switched off at 10.30,sorry about that" then smiled and kind of laughed, sorry I don't find it funny when we paid over 100 pound for one night. We had made plans for the next day but after a sleepless night we had to cancel and come home. Very disappointed. My husband sent an email to the company on Mon but we have not had a reply .

Mixed experience on our recent visit to innkeepers collection. Upon arrival we asked if there were roasts left as we wanted to have one, the manager informed us that there was and mentioned nothing about how many there were left or needing to order quick. We ordered drinks and then were left waiting for 45 mins to take out order. When we finally went to order we found out the roasts were all sold out. We were extremely disappointed and felt like we were lied to to get us through the door. By this time it was too late to go anywhere else particularly anywhere with a roast left!! The reason for my 3 stars is for the waitress who did everything she could to turn the experience around for us. She put together a made up roast with as much as she could from the roast menu and replaced anything that had run out with alternatives (mash instead of toasties for example!) - and it was delicious! Never got an apology for the roast so definitely think the service could be improved. The food that we did get was lovely though so would return for that!

The Inkeeper's is a charming old Freehouse and the building is interesting and quirky. However if you are booked to stay there is no dedicated Reception Area, you check in at the Bar and you're not necessarily dealt with ahead of someone who's only looking for a drink!!! Tiny room, shabby but lots of super pictures on the walls. Right on the water's edge on one side but also right beside a busy street on the other side. A good sprucing up, a dedicated Reception and more honest photos would make all the difference.
