The Shelbourne

My Wife and I have had a wonderful stay at the Shelbourne Hotel.
Which is situated on the sea front of the promenade in the middle of this picturesque bay.

From the moment you walk through the door, you a made to feel so very welcome by the staff and management.
Everywhere is beautifully clean and welcoming.
The rooms are all fitted with modern fittings including Fridge, TV, Kettle with various choices of drinks available in the room.
The beds are large and very comfortable.

The choice of breakfast has a choice of full English breakfast, of your choice, plus cereal, tea or coffee , and toast with preserves.
There is also a choice of light bites if a full breakfast is more than your needs.

The staff are very knowledgeable of the local area and are pleased to discuss with guests all aspects of how you may wish to vary your activity during your stay.

We were so impressed that we have arranged a second stay at the Shelbourne Hotel for later this year.

Without hesitation, we are pleased to fully recommend this hotel to all.

Beautiful rooms, good breakfast served by a very efficient, lovely lady. Just felt that in a small bed and breakfast, the owners would be more engaged. The front exterior needs TLC.

Clean, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. The location is perfect, easy access to the restaurants, pier etc.
The breakfast is huge, you pre-order the night before and choose everything you want which was great . Very happy with our room which has brilliant sea views . Highly recommended.

Such friendly owners and staff. Very friendly and made you feel welcome. Hotel was on seafront and good location from train station. Very clean and good facilities. If needed anything they were there to help. Would recommend to stay there to others.

Recently had a 2 night stay with our dog (we had twin room 2 and double room 3). Fantastic value for a clean basic room, parking and a stunning breakfast. Worth every penny. Thank you to the young girl in the evening in the bar and Chris who served breakfast, both were friendly and helpful. Speaking of Chris, I just wanted to let you know that it wasn't jam on the carpet that you had missed and was cleaning up, a customer had a few mins earlier dropped a strawberry and stood on it 😉 Dogs are not allowed in the dining room for breakfast so be aware of this if you are not travelling with other people, it worked for us as we had a split breakfast. Breakfast was beautiful, the fruit pot is made fresh and is delicious. You pick what you want the day before and can choose which item you would like so ideal if you only want a few items. The lighter bites of scrambled egg with salmon or mushrooms was also a hit. We would definitely stay here again, the owners are updating. My only suggestion would be if a small fan could be left and maybe a hook for wet coats.

The hotel is very comfortable with excellent facilities. Breakfast is beautifully cooked and with generous portions.

What really distinguishes this hotel however is the warm welcome from the host and hostess. They provide helpful information on local facilities and always available to answer questions on local issues.

Five stars and we will definitely come again.

A return visit to the Shelbourne. Sarah and Berin go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the breakfasts are beautifully cooked to order. They are always on hand with local information and recommendations. Rooms are spotless with everything you need. The Shelbourne is turning into our home from home. Looking forward to staying again in October!

As always a warm welcome & impressed with improvements made over last 2 years. Breakfast delicious sufficient well presented on plate. Clean comfortable rooms. Can recommend.
