Having a great time, the golf is fine the beer is sweet and affordable and some good food. Nice to play golf off green grass at this time. The staff are full on welcoming. Just rooms are suffering the weird warmth.

The hotel location and staff were delightful. The view from our room was beautiful and the facilities of the room were good but room cleanliness was well below par.
At the breakfast buffet I had to suggest to a waitress that the
cold meats be moved away from direct sunlight.

Beautiful buildings, disgusting service at dinner and no apologies for incorrect evening meals delivered. Breakfast choice was good but no fresh Tea/Coffee just urns with mugs left on the tables( hardly 4☆)
Both golf courses in similar average condition, not what I expected at all.
Pool was nice

2 great courses, excellent food and very comfortable room. Only negative was we booked through a 3rd party, reserved buggies but when we arrived were told that they didn't have any bookings and that 3rd party agent was known for this error. Ownership guys, if you know these people do this, either don't use them or be proactive and check, don't just shrug your shoulders and say 'tut, they always do this'

Very relaxing Marriot to stay at. The whole place is quite dated but with it being a castle does work quite well. Everything was clean and working order, had a good sleep and the dinner and breakfast were really good. All staff really nice and friendly. The only thing would be nice to have was a fridge in the room. Not used the leisure club or golf course but seems like this place is a golfer’s paradise. Solid 4 stars.

We booked a night in a Lakeside villa which was a bit dated, but lovely. Cleaning could have been a bit more thorough as glitter and cobwebs under desk and windows didn't look as if they'd been cleaned for months, but a nice space all the same.

I had a hot stone massage in the health spa which unfortunately was not very good and my husband went for a swim in the pool. The pool and spa areas are old and tired. Even a quick revamp would make them look cleaner. The massage therapist was friendly enough, but came across as inexperienced and could develop her people skills. I've had lots of massages in my time and this one wasn't one of the best. The room was very cold. I'm glad I opted for hot stones because it was the only warm things about the entire experience! When I told the therapist that I was cold, she said she was warm and asked if I'd like her to get me a blanket, but I was so cold by then, it took ages to warm up. In most places, they usually use a heated under blanket but there was no heat coming from that either. After she'd finished, I stood on the floor and that was freezing! The radiator was barely warm. I have to be honest and say I was glad to get out and go and get a coffee to warm me up. I didn't come out relaxed and I don't think I'd ever go back. My husband complained to reception who said they'd tell the facilities manager, but that was it.
Quite a disappointing experience for what is a lovely hotel in places.

Wonderful place - needs up dating in areas & customer service at breakfast was not great! Was hurried up & out by 1030am only arrived at 10am as a nice night away for my birthday. Not all things were fresh at breakfast - warm yogurt... turned up ends on bread to toast. No butter.. its a beautiful venue just needs some caring touches.

It's a Marriott so the beds are as comfortable as I always expect.

However, the walls in the main hotel are paper thin and therefore it sounds like your neighbours are in the room with you.

A beautiful parish church on site and the entrance to the hotel is awesome - however I wouldn't recommend.

Restaurant is poor value for money, but I guess we are a "captive audience".
