Grofftau Holiday Cottages

Such a lovely place to stay. Cottages are excellent, the couple who own them are very welcoming and helpful. Cottages have all the things you need, dishwasher, washing machine and good heating.

Only 30 minutes from Aberystwyth with is a must visit if your in the area.

Stayed here for New Year and so happy with our 4 bedroom cottage. Log fire, fantastic facilities & VERY clean. Also, Monica & her husband are lovely and couldn’t do enough for us - Would certainly recommend

5 stars doesn't do justice to such a fantastic cottage and the views are second to none. Owners are extremely hospitable and actually helped my brother out of a ditch in the side of the road.

What a wonderful holiday we have just had.
We selected Grofftau Cottages based on the reviews; they were very accurate.
We arrived fairly late but Monica was just so welcoming and wonderful. She spent time taking us through how everything worked allowing us to settle straight in...she really is a diamond.
The cottage itself is fantastic; homely, comfortable, warm and very well equipped, instantly feeling like our home for the next week (which it really did become).
The location is magic. The views, the silence (aside from the gentle sounds from the resident house martins and sheep, which were so comforting) and the rural location all added up to a really wonderful experience.
The 4 seasons in one day weather only adds to the magic and we experienced so many beautiful rainbows as a result.
The cottage is perfectly located for so many things to do and see.
A few worthy of mention, for those wondering were Cors Canon, New Quay dolphin tours, Y Bwa (The Arch) and the wonderful walks in the area, Devil's Bridge, Rheidol Railway, Borth Beach and the preserved ancient forest, Mwnt, Aberystwyth and it's fantastic Castle and coast line....all in a week, but really, there is so much more, which means we have to go back!
This cottage and it's owners are total gems within the beautiful and rugged Wales and I would absolutely recommend them any day of the week! We very much hope to be sitting in front of the views of the valley again in the future.

What a beautiful location with the stone cottage to match!
We are still here (we leave tomorrow) and i'd hate to forget to leave a review once our busy lives resume.
I cannot fault this place, location, views, cottage and not forgetting the hosts! Welcoming and happy to help.
I do not need to show you any pictures of the inside of the property as it is exactly as you see on the agent(s) websites, if not better!
This is a great base for explorers or even if you just wanted to curl up now to the fire all weekend!
-We took a trip to the Elan Valley (6 Dams) pretty spectacular!
-There are local woodland walks, great for kids.
-Drove over to Aberaeron - best fish and chips by the sea/harbour

Mr and Mrs Thomas- your property (s) are just amazing! and we cannot wait to bring more of the family here.

Overall its been a very relaxing break for us, just what we needed.
Clean Welsh air is good for the soul :)

An absolutely amazing cottage. The owners were very nice and friendly. The cottage has absolutely lovely views, and a lot of places to take walks. A very serene, peaceful and quiet location to go relax and renew.
