The Royal Oak Hotel

Joined in with a regular folky group gathering who were rehearsing for a 🎻🥁cèilidh. Very pleased to be able to jam in with their tunes and reciprocate with a few of our 🎸songs🎶. Room temp perhaps a touch cold to be sat just watching🤔. But, good beer, helpful staff and friendly folk. Thanks all👍

Really nice place to eat ,lovely friendly staff on and food was bang on. 🙂

Bit noisy in the street on a Saturday night but the beds were comfortable and the property was well maintained. The penthouse room had extra beds so my family had a very comfortable stay.

Good Pud/restaurant that's has a good selection on tap and the food served is nice with friendly staff.

We are currently staying here. The food was lovely. Staff friendly
And our room is clean, bright and welcoming. Knocked one star off as the bathroom needs updating. But again it is clean.

Called in with our 2 dogs, one on the best burgers I've had in a long time, staff lovely, got water for the dogs to drink and very cheerful and friendly.

I did not stay at the hotel but went to both the restaurant and the pub. Hot chocolate from the restaurant side was like dishwater, really bad. We then went to the pub and the decor was run down, atmosphere was more of a coffee shop with locals constantly hanging around and in the way. The most shocking though was 2 pints cost £9 which for location and service/establishment is way overpriced. Maybe a nice place for locals and perhaps the prices are lower for them too but with so many options out there nowadays I will give this place a miss next time.

Tried to get a table at 7. Was told 7.30 would suit them better. So OK. After arriving and getting a table we waited 15min for getting a menu and ordering some drinks. By 8 we were well ready to order some food. Got told they check in with us in 15min because they had a table of 11. Couldn't even order some starters to nibble on. 8.15 came and went without them showing. So told a passing waitress we would be getting food somewhere else. As the wait was getting too long for us. She just said OK and walked off. Drinks and food are over priced. Will never go here again. If you reserve a table the least you expect is to be able to order something. Food might be good but never had a chance to order anything. And we were starving.
No masks being worn by any of the staff. Not following any guidelines.
Went to the kebab on the way home as we knew they had fast service. Always good food at Oscar den.
