We were upgraded and given a free gift as IHG members. Breakfast was a good selection and alternative diets were considered. The Spa was great too and came included with the room. Great views from the room balcony and comfy bed.

A huge problem for us was the housekeeping/cleaners. They did not clean a single night we were day starting from our day one. We saw there was a mug stain on the table and crumbs on the floor but we didn’t say anything assuming it would be dealt with the next day. While they laid the beds each day, they would take our slippers without replacing and did not give us clean robes initially until we pointed it out at reception. The hotel was really let down by them.

Aside from the housekeeping fails, this is a great hotel to enjoy your stay. We loved the comfy king-sized bed, huge bathroom and views from the balcony. Breakfast was delicious and we appreciated the complimentary bottles of water.

Overall 3 star rating unfortunately as we had a bit of a rubbish stay (for our anniversary).
The room itself looks nice and had a great balcony view, but there were some things in the room when added up made it feel more like a travel lodge than a 5 star hotel.
Toilet paper was really thin and 1 to 2 ply, seriously it's a 5 star hotel and you are skimping on amenities?
Reward for being a voco member was a cereal bar. 😂
Pillows were thin and really misshapen and uncomfortable, they felt cheap. We both had a terrible night's sleep as there was no support (we are side sleepers but never had this issue staying anywhere so was a disappointment..) again in a 5 star hotel you expect a great night's sleep.
The hairdryer was rubbish and there were no chairs on the balcony, what's the point of a balcony view if there is nowhere to sit on said balcony?
Overall really disappointed, we stayed here about 5 to 6 years ago and the quality was much better. I would not rate it 5 star, 4 at a push maybe but it felt like a 3 star to me.
Pros - Staff were professional, enjoyed the pool, view was great from the balcony, room itself was clean and tidy.
For the price it didn't feel worth it.

Stayed at hotel for 3 nights with my daughter. It was ver relaxing, we had a fantastic view of the bay from our room. The beds were super comfy and the room was very clean. The bathrooms could do with upgrading, that said, they were clean and not uncomfortable.

The buffet breakfast was great with a nice selection. Staff were friendly and attentive. Special shout-out to Hema for the massage and Loretta in the restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return

This was our first visit to the St Davids Hotel, Cardiff Bay. The hotel has a beautiful location on the bay and our room had a balcony facing the bay with great scenery. Our arrival was flawless. We had our luggage collected from the car and delivered to our room. Reception was efficient and our room was ready on arrival. The deluxe room had a balcony and mini fridge and was well designed and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the room heating easily adjusted. There was adequate wardrobe and drawer space. The TV was very good with an adequate choice of stations. The bathroom was well equipped with an excellent over the bath shower. Wifi was complimentary and reception very good (room on the second floor). Although there was ample car parking this was charged at £24 per night despite no obvious evidence of car park security. The bar area and restaurant were delightful and the quality / choice of food and beverages good. Service at the bar and in the restaurant was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit.

I was treating my sister to a stay in Cardiff Bay and thought the St.Davids hotel would be a great base. We weren't disappointed! We had a good welcome and were taken to a lovely room on the 5th floor with great views of the Bay. We were able to use the pool and Spa and enjoyed treatments there in between our shopping and exploring Cardiff.
The staff were all very polite and helpful, booking a taxi when needed and offering directions.
We enjoyed a good breakfast and one member of staff Paul always ensured we had everything we needed in the way of food and drink.
All in all it was a great stay and I would recommend the hotel as a base.

I was a bit worried about not getting much sleep given the central location. But I had a really good night. I was overlooking the bay and it was very quiet.
Room was clean, warm and welcoming. I don't usually use the shampoo and conditioner in hotels, but I tried theirs and it was very good.
Staff were lovely. Breakfast was amazing.
Downside is the cost of car parking.

Outstanding! We stayed in suite 401 which was large, clean, modern and had the beauty of twin balcony’s over looking the bay! The breakfast in bed service was punctual and the portion sizes were more than enough for two people. Fantastic spa facilities with a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym all available for use. We booked a full body hot stone massage and I cannot recommend Molly enough when booking your treatment! She was professional, friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable! Our evening meal in the restaurant downstairs was delicious and the service was fabulous! Overall a fantastic stay and would highly recommend!!!

Came away for a mini break and were treated to the top floor suite, room service was speedy and very professional.
Room was a delight, spacious and decorated in a modern contemporary style.
Nice touch with the snacks they left for us and full complimentary bar - including beer and soft drinks.
Soa area had a variety of pools and areas to chill, including a sauna. Very relaxing for us.
Balcony gave great views over the bay and we enjoyed seeing the sights into the early morning then again at sunshine.
Perfect couples break, highly recommend
