Excellent time at the wedding however the servers were not very forthcoming for non alcoholic drinks. Alcohol was being served throughout our 3 course meal, we got one soft drink for the toast. The kids got juice but despite waking the waiters 3 times, no one brought a non alcoholic drink for us.they are unable to cater for non alcohol drinkers.

Historical Hotel l well but a little bit sad. Great location with beautiful gardens and car park. Meals good but service in the morning terrible ran out of hot water bread and at one point milk no motivation in the staff? Actual food was good. and yes I would stay in the hotel again,

Pros: Great location, really good food in a well decorated restaurant, decent walkers bar for a pint after a ramble. Friendly enough staff. Room clean. Proper hot water.

Cons: decor is pretty faded outside of the restaurant. The room i stayed in (201) offered a view of three walls and a tin roof. On one of the walls sat a loud extractor fan for the kitchen which hummed away merrily until 10.30 p.m and came back on at about 5.30 a.m. I had the windows open as the room was a bit stuffy - so I was glad I had packed my earplugs!

Accessibility issues if you have a disability. Just one temperamental lift, by one of the staffs admission. No ground floor rooms and you cannot get onto the pavement without going into the road with a wheelchair as you leave the hotel towards town.

Some staff were great, others indifferent or sometimes unprofessional.

Loved the view from the room and the food was good. Service could be better.

Food in the bar was good , thought £18 for fish and chips a little steep . Bar rooms bit grim , main room a large television with boxing . Awful no one in that room. The second room busy and dirty pots on spare tables . Found a third small area . Restaurant better . Room quite good .

Excellent. Staff amazing. Room we had was even better than our previous one on our last stay. Food as ever was brilliant. Menu needs changing or extending.........even tho food is excellent choice is extremely limited. Please sort it for our next visit !! Thanks in advance !

We selected the Royal Victoria Hotel after reviewing various options for a two night stay with dinner, bed and breakfast included.
The hotel was very reasonably priced and our room was clean and comfortable with a nice view over the mountains.
Breakfast and dinner were of a high standard with particular mention of the Roast Turkey dinner we enjoyed on the Friday night which was excellent. The Christmas pudding was unfortunately very 'chewy' which was acknowledged and the cost taken off the bill ..... these things happen!
The view over the village from the Victoria dining room is spectacular (see accompanying breakfast time photo taken after a snow fall)
Staff were without exception friendly, attentive and efficient.
No hesitation at all in recommending this hotel and we would certainly return.
