We had room 406 and it’s was a disgrace for a 4star hotel. Very basic, carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, there was bits of glitter over the floor. The bedside lamps had finger marks all over them, bath panel not fixed to anything, part of the curtain rail missing and pushed to one side, shower slow and cool. The TV hand control was very very dirty, there is no way that had a clean even during Covid.. It needs a lot of TLC.

Upon arrival and driving down the long driveway you have a real sense of being in a manor house setting.
Arriving in the car park was no disappointment, the building and surroundings were idyllic.

Staff were very welcoming and made the check-in process seamless. All throughout the stay the staff were excellent and never too busy to have a chat and tell you about the history of the place.

The bedroom was quite basic, everything you need really but could do with a bit of a spruce up with fresh paint and a proper spring clean. The building itself, more so the pub area...was full of character and considering the age of the property the original features were amazing. From big fireplace to wooden beams and ornate staircase to traditional archways near the bar. The bar area is where you have a wonderfully cooked Welsh breakfast with great local produce all served with a smile. You could also help yourself to continental style breakfast with the usual croissants and pastries to cereal and toast. Steeped in history this place was great to visit and would definitely go back again. Thank you for having us.

You will struggle to find a more enjoyable, relaxing and welcoming location to stay, drink or eat at in the area. Staff and owners are awesome, we'll be back again.

Awful bedroom
Despite the fairly grand old reception, bar & dining area our actual bedroom was awful.
No hot water for bath/shower - considering the rooms are mainly booked for wedding guests this is a real problem.
75% of the lightbulbs were dead & the remaining 25% were dirty, low output & flickering.
One bedside lamp which did not work.
Inside window ledges paint peeling with mould all along the bottom of the window.
Very disappointing considering some of issues are easy & inexpensive to rectify.

Lovely Manor house spa and hotel. Very nice of the lady to show us around and also let us have a pot of tea in the breakfast room. We will be booking to stay here very soon.

Lovely staff! The receptionist/manager is amazingly amicable. She is always smiling and chatty. The hotel room is fine, although the shower pressure is not so good. Breakfast is very nice, and the hotel's 16th architecture is impressively well-maintained—a very welsh countryside experience.

This is the nicest places I have stayed. Beautiful historic house, quaint self-catering cottages (which I was fortunate to stay in), and the staff. Well they can't be any friendlier or warmer in their welcome and throughout my stay. They really do go above and beyond and make you feel like you're part of a caring family. I am truly grateful for all the help and kindness they have all shown me.
