Good selection of menu and well presented. Restaurant staff efficient and cheerful. Lovely pool and jacuzzi . Room clean and plenty of comfortable seating in the public areas. Suggest more evening entertainment. There were 3 coach parties staying.( I was with Blue Bird holidays)and only one singer while I was there.

We went to use the spa facilities. Was lovely and food part of the package was brilliant and the service fantastic. My only criticism would be that the jacuzzi needed to be a bit cooler and the pool a bit warmer. Other than that lovely spa day.x.

Just back from 5 day break - beautiful building with lots of original features....discreet but very friendly and efficient staff. Spotlessly clean and food was gorgeous and beautifully presented. Breakfast plentiful and it was a joy not to keep asking for things as everything was stocked efficiently. Would have been 5 stars but TV reception is dire at times.

Was on a short golf break which included a two night stay at the Metropole Hotel and Spa. I have to admit that it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were a good size and clean. We were booked in for Breakfast and Evening Meal. Breakfast was a buffet and ws excellent. The choice and food for the evening meal was also excellent. The service was very good and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very spacious inside with a large seated area. A very enjoyable stay.

Nice family run hotel. Actually better than I had anticipated and they are working hard to keep the air of class and sophistication that it clearly had in the Victorian era. Some lovely touches inside - nicely decorated. Bedroom was a good size and comfortable. Walls a bit thin - could hear a gentleman in the room next door - being unwell!!! Food is ok but nothing to write home about. Staff friendly and efficient. Spa/gym/pool - good. Lots of parking behind the hotel. All in all lots of positives.

I was passing through on work and popped in for a bite to eat, no regrets at all the food is devine!

Locally sourced, fresh produce a good hearty meal and great value for money in my opinion.

Enough to make me want to come back and stay over and enjoy more of the hotel facilities

A nice hotel which works out at a good price with the addition of evening meal, breakfast, swimming pool and sauna facilities. Meals were great but breakfast is served a little early (currently stops at 9.30am). Rooms are okay but fairly dated furnishings given the age of the hotel, but this was fine for us. Photo here is of the view from the window of our top floor room, looking out onto the Brecon Beacons. Central in town but most shops closed between Christmas and New Year. Would recommend.
