After a rather unfortunate breakdown in the car, we needed to stay somewhere overnight and luckily we were able to get the last room available. Any port in a storm as they say, but as it happened, this turned out to be a great choice. Room was very clean and as long as you don’t mind being on a main road (road noise quietens at 11pm until about 7am) had a great view over the River Wye. The owners and staff couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was perfect, and the food…..oh my!! The biggest pie I’ve ever seen crammed full of meat, and a Thai Curry that you could’ve fed the whole street on! Breakfast was fantastic too with tea, orange juice, toast and a full Welsh (English). Would we recommend this place? Most certainly. Would we stay again? Without a doubt.

Really nice food with British pub and Thai options. More on the pricey side but food is worth it. Friendly staff but very long wait times.
If you're not in a rush would recommend, takeaway available.

Lovely place to stay, owners nice and the food is really good, the Tha food is amazingly good, probably because the owners wife is the authentic cook ! No hesitation in going back.

Spent the evening here in the restaurant, food and service excellent, have dined here before, never had a poor experience, we can't understand why it's not more popular with the locals, choice of English or Thai we've had both, always good.

The owners were very helpful the room was adequate clean and comfortable the ensuite was quite small and a high step into the shower, in the 3 days we were there the room wasn't touched (not that we needed it) we only had breakfast whilst we were there and the food was lovely, was looking forward to having a nice pint of local ale in the bar after a long day touring but when we got back around 10pm the bar was shut apart from the last night, the owner did say that it was not practical to keep it open as it was empty as the kitchen was being refurbished and it had affected the evening trade which was understandable. All in all a good hotel a little bit expensive but with everything going up at the moment was acceptable.

I was warned about the time this place takes to prepare food. It took them 58 minutes to prepare 1 thai soup, 1 noodles and a thai chicken curry. After reminding the manager that it had been 43 minutes and we were still not served despite an empty dining room, the Manager said this is normal as there is only one chef in the kitchen and it's been prepared from scratch. This was normal according to the manager. The food was very tasty though but before coming to this place one should decide if they are willing to wait for an hour for food to arrive. After this experience I was not surprised why the dining room is empty and people choosing elsewhere to eat.

Fantastic place to stay. Great breakfast and an incredible authentic Thai menu in the evening. Beer was great and hosts very genuine people. Highly recommended.
