Gwesty Cymru Hotel & Restaurant

My wife and I booked for breakfast at 10:30 and arrived promptly. There was no one in the restaurant so we managed to find a member of staff who told us we could sit anywhere and then proceeded to take our drinks and food order.
The website says that “their focus is to raise vegan food to the same standard as all other food”… This obviously doesn’t apply to their breakfasts. My wife Jo has an intolerance of eggs so vegan breakfasts are usually good for her, however the breakfast menus here is focused around eggs. Jo decided to order the scrambled Tofu, however after a few mins the waiter informed us that they did not have any Tofu. Not bad for a vegan focused restaurant!!
After our drinks had been brought to the table the waiter came back to us and asked if we could move outside as they had to set up for a party that had booked for lunch. We reminded him that we booked for breakfast and wanted to stay inside. We were not impressed but did agree to move into a corner whilst they moved the tables behind us. This made us feel like the other group were more important to them than us.
There we no ambiance inside the restaurant with tables being moved, music being played in the restaurant speakers and different music being played in the kitchen, and a complete lack of other people.
When the food came out it looked good as you can see in the pictures, however it was actually quite underwhelming. We won’t be going back.

Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel.
I would expect a simple thing like the TV to be working in a £200 a night room.
The Staff we met all had a general air of complacency about them.
Large gazebo obscured the "Sea view".

The room we had was stunning with a lovely sea view. The evening meal was lovely as was breakfast. The hotel is situated conveniently for both the sea front and station

Excellent room, dinner was superb and staff were lovely and very helpful. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning.

The food here is delightful, a small selection but all tasting superb. The choices of wines to accommodate is also just as good.

Came in for some cocktails. Staff were extremely welcoming and the drinks were great. Definitely recommended!

Had a lovely stay very handy location clean and comfortable rooms excellent breakfast and ate at restaurant both nights food was great

Stayed in room 6 with a fabulous sea view. Lovely room & great facilities. Lock didn’t work when we went to go out but a locksmith came within 20 minutes and fixed it & so very little delay. We didn’t eat here but would recommend the accommodation.
