Great place for a drink and a bite to eat next to the lake. Perfect for a hard earned pint on the way down from Cader. Now open 7 days a week, if it looks shut just bang on the door!

Absolutely brilliant. Nothing is better than walking up on a nice, sunny day, sitting outside with a cold pint and taking in the breathtaking views. The food there is also terrific. I look forward to visiting again!

Perfectly formed and superbly run. A pub hotel with its own lake. Cader Idris next door, wildlife all around and run by two hosts who couldn't do more for you.

We stayed for a couple of days and it couldn't have been better! The setting is brilliant, lots of wildlife and walks. Make sure you have food here too, there is so much love and care that goes into the meals, absolutely delicious! Also the rooms are great, they are cosy and clean and super comfy beds. Maggie and Dai were amazing host and we will definitely be staying again! Thank you for making our stay with you a great one!

Everything, arrived and found a small piece of paradise. Location is beautiful and perfect for walking, room and facilities were faultless, food was superb, the beer even better served in the smallest but best bar I've had the luck to be in. Maggie & Dai and their amazing small team of helpers were superb and could not make you feel more welcome in a friendly and relaxed environment. Don't hesitate book in to the Gwernan, I'll definitely be back as soon as I can. 10/10.

Incredibly inhospitable owners very rude, about the first words out of his mouth as I tried to order a beer was “your in breach of contract” seems they are obsessed with customers leaving the premises and parking. My advise is give this place a wide berth. My photo of car park shows how NOT busy they where

Awesome location, really friendly people and a nice room. The only thing that let it down was the bed - the mattress was uncomfortable and saggy. I'm sure they'll replace it after reading this review tbh, i get the impression the owners really care about their guest's experience
