Went in for a quote on a small pendant repair, jeweller wasn’t there himself so left it with them. Called back for a quote which I felt was very overpriced so told them to ‘leave it with me and i’d Get back to them’ went in to collect it not wanting the work to go ahead to be told it wasn’t on the premises and was at the workshop being repaired. At no point did I agree to this or even know my jewellery would be taken out of the shop. (The woman I spoke to said ‘you never asked that’.. why would I?!) I presumed a jewellery repair would take place in a jewellers?! Was told to come back the next day to speak to the jeweller which I did but he wasn’t there again. The woman I spoke to was unbelievably rude never known anything like it in wallington.. she told me that they would then break my jewellery and give it back to me the way it came in. I then asked if I would have to sign anything to agree to this in the case of my pendant being broken even more in the process, she laughed at me and spoke to me as if I was a child. When I explained what had happened she said ‘wires must of been crossed’ no apology. I must say the jeweller came back and offered for me to pay a reduced amount which I felt was more reasonable for the small repair which I did and now have my pendant back but I will avoid this place at all costs in the future as will my family and friends.

I contacted this jeweller to see if they could offer a rather specialised service I've seen on a US website. Having heard good reviews from the Wallington community I have asked for my late cat's pawprint to be engraved onto a pendant. What I received exceeded my expectations by a country mile, I'm so chuffed. No job is too small but these guys can also deliver miracles. Thank you.

Don’t waste your money here, they don’t hold themselves accountable for their mistakes and cheap jewelry, then they try to charge more for fixing it than what the the ring originally cost!

I've always liked this shop as a great place to buy gifts - the place is full of unusual and beautiful things. This weekend I'm also really grateful to the jeweller for fixing a broken wall clock that I almost gave up on. The clock is now perfect, ticking away happily and looking great on my wall.

My late father took in a valuable family heirloom for quotation, and the shop lost it.

For context: my father had inherited an original Rolex from my grandfather, but it required repair. So, he took it into Schroder a few years back for an enquiry.

The cost of repair was money he didn’t have at the time, so Schroder said they’d be happy to hold onto it ‘whilst he made up his mind’. It was then forgotten about for a few years.

Last summer, for my father’s last birthday, my brother and I followed-up Schroder having learnt the location of the watch. Whilst we recognised from the off that time had gone by and the difficulty that presented, we iterated how significant the sentimental value of the watch was to our family. We were willing to pay whatever the cost was of repair.

The shopkeeper who served us in the first instance was rude, unsympathetic and unhelpful — he cited we couldn’t ‘do anything without an original receipt’ (which begs the question as to how things are stored/labelled). Despite this, he insisted he’d look into it and let us know within a week.

When following-up a fortnight later, the owner said he hadn’t bothered to take our phone number so they couldn’t get in-touch with us. We were told to wait another week, and this time they’d get back to us.

Now proactively chasing a third third via telephone, the owner couldn’t give us a definitive answer as to whether they had to watch or not (and if they didn’t, why that was). She then insisted she had to cease the conversation to ‘serve a customer’; her demeanour as a whole was very shady — she was bumbling her words and nervously laughing at the matter.

Whilst we completely understand that we have to take liability for allowing time to go by, we’ve been left unbelievably frustrated by the lack of answers and unsympathetic attitude of the staff. With my father now passed, we’ve forsaken any hope of retrieving something that had profound meaning to all of us.

(The monetary value of the watch makes us have our own theories as to its whereabouts).

Avoid Schroder like the plague. Regardless of the complexities of our scenario, the entire ordeal illustrates how shady, heartless and frankly incompetent they are as a business — I sincerely hope there’s karma.

Took my fossil watch here to have the mechanism repaired. Staff were very rude and didn't update me of delays. I recently needed the battery changed but I have been unable to get it done as the last people to work on it (schroders) have forced/jammed the back on. I've been to 2 watch repair shops and neither have been able to get it off. Do not go here.

Popped in there today to get my watch fixed the pin had come out the strap. The lady fixed it for free. How lovely was that. Couldn’t recommend this shop enough.
