Melanie was so so helpful when I was looking for a very specific gift for a friend, I rang the shop and she emailed me photos of the necklace I had described, she let me pay remotely and arranged for delivery of the piece I wanted to London. So accommodating, really went above and beyond! The necklace was great quality and very beautiful!

This is the most wonderful little shop with beautiful silver jewellery for every occasion. There is a huge selection of traditional, modern and statement jewellery to suit all tastes. The quality is exceptional and it is so much nicer to see the piece, feel its weight, and particularly its size - something you cannot do with online shopping. I guarantee that if you go to this shop, you will not leave empty handed. Melanie is very helpful and gives excellent customer service. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough.

Over the years I’ve had many gifts from this shop from my husband and children. It’s also one of the first places my mum goes to when she visits. If you’re a local you probably know it already but if you’re visiting St Albans it’s well worth a look. The shop is small but there is a wonderful selection of jewellery packed in and at affordable prices for decent quality. I sometimes buy jewellery online but it’s so much nicer to go in and see exactly what something looks like before I buy. It’s a little treasure trove and great to see it re-open after the recent covid lockdown.

I came across this wonderful little shop as we were walking back to our car after visiting the cathedral. I have a weakness for jewellery so I couldn't just walk past without stepping into have a look. One is is truly spoiled for choice and the service was outstanding! I purchased two beautiful brooches. It's been three years since my purchase and even now I get complemented on them by perfect strangers each time I wear them out. This is a must stop if you ever visit the area. I have received many gifts from this fantastic store over the years and now visit regularly to purchase pieces for myself! Such an amazing selection of pieces, mainly sterling silver, that have become apart of my daily collection. The price variation is fantastic - there is something for all budgets.
The service is fantastic - it is clear that there is a passion for jewellery here.

Great place for all silver jewellery. Good stock at keen prices for something a little different. We have used it for a number of years with no complaints. Just ordered a new pair of earrings to match a lost one from a couple of years ago. They were very helpful in matching it.

Sterling silver ring repair.
The Shop on The Hill was recommended to me by a big name jeweler in town who said they couldn't repair a snapped sterling silver ring. The ring is low monetary value but extremely high sentimental value.

The shop assistant took one look and said they could absolutely sort the ring out, that it would be about a week and wouldn't be expensive.

The woman helping me also helped me pick a replacement ring as my finger felt odd without a ring I've worn for nearly over twenty years.

Ten days later I got a text to collect my ring.

Its perfect. The jeweler fixed the fractured ring so well the join can't be seen. They rounded the ring for me to after year of wear had made it almost D shaped!

£24 quid for a perfect fix, reshaping and amazing polish to a bright silver shine. Couldn't thank them enough for doing such an amazing job.

I used to be a Saturday girl at the shop for 3 (nearly 4) years, and I am still a regular customer to the shop now. I do not recognise the person the previous review is describing, I loved working at the shop, and became very good friends with the manager and all of my colleagues. Also, I always received positive feedback from the customers.
