Brookford Launderettes

Pretty efficient despite the weird ATM central brain to control machines. But I was disappointed to see the prices had gone up quite a bit this year. £7 for a large machine is the most I have ever paid anywhere in London.

This launderette doesn't deserve this low rating! The machines are quite good. You can change your money inside if you don't have cash. There is a control panel where you put your money and you can easily select the machines. When I went there last week there was a woman really gentle and happy to help. She deep cleaned everything and I have to say that the launderette is really tidy, more than average standards.
The prices are a bit higher than usual especially compared with central London.

Thankfully I met a regular user who was able to suggest other shops I could visit to get change for the machines, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to use the facilities.
Washing was straight forward. The drying not so. It's important to read the instructions on the payment machine to get the dryer to start.
Overall, a dated payment system which could do with modernisation to either allow contactless payment or take notes.
Regular users will know the system well. New users beware.

Since Anna has been looking after the place, it has been immaculate. I have just started using the service wash facility, what a godsend I used to spend a couple of hours doing laundry as I work nearby, now I drop it off and collect it at the end of the day all beautifully folded! Anna is a star!!!!!

Anna was there to talk me through the machines and offer advice. Not busy around 10am and very easy to operate the system. Highly recommend definitely worth the money for the convenience. Close enough to the canal for those of us living on the water.

Agreed a price on a service wash in person after showing the lady the bag of linen. A few hours later had a call to say that it would be £10 more than what I had paid in cash. I said I didn't want to go ahead with the wash and she said it was too late as she already did the wash. I could either pay the extra or she would keep the linen (expensive linen for my rental apartment). To put the price up after I had paid is bad enough, but to then go ahead with the wash without my authorisation was unacceptable.

Washing machines and dryers available quick to use. Machine takes coins only! no cash or swipe accepted however local shops are helpful to exchange notes for coins. Sometimes a lady is at the laundrette to help out and assist.

Find an alternative launderette! Dirty, unstaffed and ludicrously expensive. Evidently someone had used bleach before me and the machine hadn’t rinsed through properly as some of my items came out with bleached patches on them. No one to complain to of course. Driers poor quality and the machines barely have a spin cycle.
Spend your money elsewhere.
