1 guy in security is a humourless grumpy ignorant did, if he doesn't like drivers he should change his job. Unloading usually quite quick.

I worked here over the Christmas period courtesy of Pertemps Crewe.
The pay was super.
The Temps & Gist staff were great.
As you are packing food stuffs for Marks & Spencers, you are in the ambient area to keep the food fresh. You have various breaks throughout the day to keep your temperature up as gets a lil chilly.
The starts were 05:00am, but the finish was 15:30pm, was an experience, but I packed & was then put on marshaling the dollies ready for the HGV's to deliver to the Marks & Spencers stores Nationally.
No Management positions though, maybe next time ;)

Many a time I on the bay for 2.5 hours, outrageous when you only have around 8 pallets for them! It has improved lately, but they need to keep it up.

Actually visited the engineering workshop next door but it was great to see the gates, vehicle and warehouses in the background and be reminded of great days working at BOC Transhield as it was then back in the mid 80s.

Security man here is a total and utter jobsworth. He took great delight in telling me how he couldn't let me in because I didn't have a bar code and the supplier should have given me one. Saying I would have to phone my company and get them to send one to my phone. He looked gutted when I smiled and told him it was an internal trsnsfrom another branch of GIST and my phone was broken. When I got back in cab and started the truck the Security man wanted to know what I was doing I smiled and said I was tacking the load back to Chesterfield. All of a sudden he was able to help me. :-). Rest of staff seem okay
