Amwell Surgery

We registered with the surgery early this year, and we have had excellent experience so far. The staff and doctors have been very responsive to our concerns and they always booked us in within the day when our baby or us have been unwell. Thank you Amwell Surgery!

This isn’t that bad on a normal basis.
Phones are a nightmare but you can get advice through by email.
Reception staff can be blunt and brash especially when it comes to test results and questions.
They have totally messed up my medication lately by issuing the wrong amounts but hopefully this will now be sorted. All services locally are stretched Hoddesdon has had a massive influx of people due to unprecedented building with no further doctors or services provided. Make the best of it the other practices in Hoddesdon are a lot worse.

Only giving 1 star because google wont allow a 0. Shocking service. If you manage to avoid the robotic "call back at 2pm for an appointment" response and get a slot you can guarantee a wait of 15 mins+ to be seen. Waited 30 mins over my appointment time with a sick baby today with zero remorse shown. Its every time we have to visit and not a one off.

Very terrible with dealing with enquiries
As a new patient I found this very upsetting and diminishing
2 times I cannot get a prescription and been sent miles to been seen via another nhs
What’s the point.
Of even being registered if the nurse or Gp can’t provide what should be available via your go or nurse

The lady on the phone at Amwell who answered at 14.18pm went out of her way to help me order a few tablets as medication was lost. She was brilliant and very polite. The reception staff are wonderful. She requested the Doctor to do this. Staff is always under pressure but still helped. THANK YOU.

Google reviews should REALLY let people give 0 because the service I keep on receiving from this place for years is SHOCKING. If I didn’t have another option, I wouldn’t be registered here. I’m not one to usually complain, but I have had ENOUGH. A complete lack of understanding and respect for the situation, even for a sensitive issue like mental health. This GP completely put me off from wanting to seek help for my mental health for 8 years, with two suicide attempts within those years. They have a complete lack of remorse for someone who needs a specific care provider for the job and I was promised that care provider previously. After all those years, I finally try to work on my mental health again, and again I’ve been put completely off working on it if it means I have to work with this GP, especially those handling the phones. It’s just completely ridiculously and infuriating.

I used to really enjoy being with this surgery. Lately any medical concern I go to them for advice or medical support with I have been sent for tests and never heard back. It’s frustrating especially when these issues are everyday health concerns.

Very polite & helpful, the doctors actually listen to your problem & the nurses are very caring, main staff on reception are very cheery & friendly & will help where they can.
