What a great GP Practice with several experienced and caring doctors. Unsure why the others are having complaints about getting appointments because the phone lines open at 08 AM sharp and they assign the appointment slots to those who call as per the queue.

If people have challenges using the phone (the issue could be from your end) then sign up for the online appointment system using the website or mobile phone application (most people have access to a computer or phone nowadays even if this is from a Public Library).

Every time I call for an appointment since I moved to the area in October, there are never any left. Today and yesterday I had called as soon as the lines opened, yesterday I was 15 in the que and today I was 11, to both times he told there are no appointments and to try again tomorrow. Absolutely terrible. My old surgery in the next town on, always fitted me and me baby in on the day, no matter what time of the day I called! I’m changing surgery’s today as it’s not on. There also don’t seem to be much communication between the receptionists/admin when it comes to dealing with my daughters repeat prescription every time it comes to it.

Been with this surgery my whole life (I'm 34) and just decided to change. (Only reason I didn't before now is that all GPs seem to be as bad as each other!)

The final straw for me was approaching the drs for support with postpartum depression and being told 'you have a baby, you should be happy'. Completely staggering ignorance around mental health. I was also told when I was 19 by a different dr at the same surgery that 'you're young, you have a boyfriend and a job, you can't be depressed'.

Giving 2 stars rather than 1 because they have helped me with other things (non mental health) in the past, e.g. adult acne. And the receptionists are nice and helpful- I see a lot of reviews for other GPs saying receptionists are terrible.

But so shocked at the service
I’ve seen a doctor on more than 4 occasions about my skin and I have not been helped
I’ve expressed how itchy I get after showers to the point I can’t get on with normal activities
On one occasion the doctor said he would refer me but he thinks that it’s not so bad for him to refer me
Today I called because for the past 4 days my itching has been bad the doctor tried to call me and it failed I immediately called back and told them to tell him to call back and he didn’t
The surgery closes at 7pm but I called at 6:30 to remind them I had no call back and at 6:45 I called again and the automated voice said they were closed.
I called 111 and they said I should just leave the surgery and that’s exactly what I’m good to do because the level of care is poor. I shouldn’t have to live with itching for 10 years and be told to just live with it. If it turns out to he an underlying health issue I am going to make sure that slade green medical centre is held accountable.

Quite ridiculous practice, I did a blood test for Vitamin D and Thyroxyn as I was taking medication and my private clinic advised to tell them as soon as I got the results but this medical center refused to tell me the results until I spoke to a doctor and the doctor is not available in a weeks time and during the time I have to take the same dose which could be harmful for me with low or over dosage - DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTISE !

Friendly staff, book on day appointments most of the time from 8am.
Management is good too.
Very happy to have this doctors surgery as our family doctors 😊

New patient registering here and been happy with the service from reception staff.
Seen promptly by the doctors and felt at ease.
Agree the phones are busy and takes a while to get through but no different to other surgeries
People EXPECT and DEMAND immediate attentio but don't think about the staff working so hard to answer calls and deal with ANGRY INCONSIDERATE RUDE PATIENTS!
Give them them a break!
The NHS is under a lot of pressure so be kind to staff!

Absolutely shocking service. Not once have they delivered my prescription to the pharmacy for collection. Every time the pharmacist has to order for me. Once waited 3 weeks to collect even though I have emailed called etc etc. The doctors are quite good once seen, but the poor prescription service has me looking for another gp.
