I understand there’s a strain in the NHS right now but it feels as if the receptionists at this surgery literally just don’t want to give out appts and are willing to ask covid positive patients to go into urgent care. In addition, I had spoken to a doctor here before and they were incredibly dismissive of my concerns. I’m sure this isn’t reflective of all their doctors but it is a shame that I had such a poor experience with the one i was booked in for. I had to ask multiple times for a urine test, to at least get some sort of diagnosis. for some reason, the urine form stated it was a test for a UTI when none of my symptoms i had described to her correlated with a UTI???? The GP then lost my urine sample and has told me to go back to give them another one. Well, my symptoms have returned now and was not an ‘isolated incident’ like the GP doctor had persisted on. So disappointed with the services here. I’m already a massive hypochondriac and this GP only fuels that. Pls avoid unless you rly cannot find another GP close to your home.
The nurse I saw put me a such ease something I have never felt with a doctors surgery before !
Brilliant
The main issues are largely due to admin, eConsult was a massive pain before they swapped to AskFirst, which is much better but still has flaws. The reception team can also be an issue, I think perhaps outdated equipment, and some are lovely but some make no effort to help you.
Unlike others, I believe the surgery does do urgent appointments but you have to call when they open at 8am, like most other GP Surgeries, otherwise you have to book a routine appointment.
Lead time for a normal appointment is 1.5-2 weeks. I'd been looking on Wednesday 26th to get an appointment and first dates available were 7th onwards. However, if there are cancellations you can also normally book these, I managed to book one for Thursday morning - unfortunately this was cancelled which was frustrating, but I then managed to book another for Friday morning which went really well today.
When I finally did get seen I had to actively ask the gp to look at my throat. when he did he used his unsanitised personal phone! To me that does not scream professionalism. The doctor was rude and dismissive of my worries and concerns for my own health.
My mum has also had her own nightmare recently with health concerns. Again, gp very dismissive showing little concern or interest. She ended up seeking help at a&e, and has been there for a week with heart complications.
I have never left a bad review before, but feel it needs to be shared as it relates to people's health and well-being.
