I have just undergone treatment for my Barretts Oesophagus high grade dysplasia condition
at the Wellington hospital & the London Clinic.
I am under the care of Prof Lovat who has carried out both Endoscopic Mucosal Resection & Halo Radiofrequency Ablation treatment. My two operations have been succesful and I am very grateful to Prof. Lovat, Alexandra his personal secretary, his team, staff and nurses.
From the initial consultation to my most recent follow up visit, everything has gone very smoothly.
The detailed explanations regarding the treatment, what to expect, the care, the service and attention to detail with follow up emails describing the treatment results have been very helpful in understanding & coming to terms with the treatment I have received.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been referred to Prof Lovat and again wish to express my heartfelt thanks to him and his colleagues.
During a 3 week period, I have had to chase six times, for both my appointment schedule and covid test arrangements. To date I still have no information.
My last correspondence was over the phone, where I was advised this would be sorted same day, this was four days ago, I still have no information.
Quite frankly, the Doctors are really being let down by the customer service team, which is a shame.
Overall, it's been a frustrating and disappointing experience, which is the last thing you would expect from a private clinic.
I got in touch with London Gastro because... I don't know why, actually. They weren't recommended by anyone. I need specialist assistance and I need the best in the field - London Gastro, with their impressive academic credentials looked the part.
My first e-mail was met with a generic reply. Each subsequent e-mail was roundly ignored (I sent 6 or 7). The phone is never being answered - literally, never. You just get to Alexandra's voicemail, which she ignores (just like her e-mails).
In short, not exactly an ideal first impression for an outfit charging up to GBP 350 per hour.
PS. In the response to the response: I called multiple times on various days, always before 17:00 - that counts as "during business hours", doesn't it?
PPS.
Thu 17-Mar, called at 16:30: voicemail; sent an e-mail : no reply.
Mon 21-Mar: sent *five* e-mails: no reply.
Wed 23-Mar, called at 15:18: voicemail.
Thu 24-Mar, called at 15:33: voicemail.
Fri 25-Mar, called at 15:05: voicemail.
The hospital misplaced my biopsy at the time and Professor Lovat kindly repeated a second procedure free of charge (even though it wasn't his fault)
I would strongly recommend Professor Lovat and his team.
