Appointments are easy to make online through the government app. Phone consultation gives the doctors more time as the time wasters are dealt with quickly. In the old days the first come basis was always full of people with social care needs not health care. So the phone introduction has improved the service

Absolutely pathetic, receptionists are obstructive, practice manager refused my antidepressants for suicidal tendencies because I was "too upset". Wasn't prescribed said medication until 5 years into my illness and had finally found something that worked, will be reporting for medical negligence

In flexible and unhelpful. My.appointmemt as for 3.30. I arrived 3 miñutes late (3.33) appointment had been cancelled. Make sure you get there in plenty of time. I left work at 2.45pm but traffic was bad. Should only be a 20 minute journey. Can get another appointment until 2nd Dec. Shame they don't compensate for all the time when they are running late.

Always found all the staff very professional and caring .
Telephone system is excellent , but if further treatment is needed al, staff do their best to get you seen .
They are the best practice I have ever been with .
Well done .

My two children and wife are registered with the surgery and we have always found the appointment system to work well and both reception staff and GP'S to be polite and professional.

Maybe unfair on this specific practice, as much of it is probably true of all primary care. Still needs addressing, especially with regard to their compliance with the Law, specifically 2010 Equalities Act. Yes, there are exemptions to said Act if you’re a 50+ tour operator, but if you’re an NHS provider, govt guidance states: ‘there are no specific exceptions to the ban on age discrimination for health’. So patients can feel understandably uncomfortable & perplexed if they, for example, go from 'normal -nfa' & less then 2 months later find themselves with a ‘crumbling’ spine that was apparently born 20 years before their other body parts & have it dismissed as old age. PD James’ Quietus springs to mind, except that unpolluted sea-water’s good for you at any age, so in that respect a fictional dystopian metaphor was more humane than 2022 primary care reality. As for the crystal maze to try to get a follow-through or a more sober (in the metaphorical sense) assessment, forget it. No reflection on admin staff – they work well above their pay grade, but someone really needs to look at how the appointments system works (and does it?), how to get genuine on-line consultations (as opposed to the 40-character limit on booking phone appts) & how to treat patients of all ages equitably.

I have always found this practice to be excellent. Starting with the approachable reception staff, to the nursing staff and the doctors. I have never had a problem to obtain a face to face with a doctor if this was triaged as necessary. They have been operating a triage system for many years. It makes perfect sense and works really well. We'll done and thank you to all. You are appreciated

Great surgery with one exception. Dr Steere. He needs to retire. My family have been with the surgery for three generations (soon to be four!) My grandmother will no longer accept an appointment with Steere. Neither will my mother. Both state he is indifferent to them. My mother went to him after surgery on her spine to talk post op/mental health etc and she brought up the fact she would like to lose some weight to hasten recovery (she is not obese but quite overweight). He told her just to eat less (he put it less kindly). This completely ignores the massive changes that had happened in her life that had necessitated the surgery. Another good friend had MH difficulties and he has been appallingly bad. He (my friend) has moved surgeries as the only appointments available at times for days at a time are with Steere and he couldn't cope with having to speak with a mean old man who was gatekeeping his access to real help. This man needs to retire. Now.
