I have been a patient at Midland Street and Goldenbrook for around 35 years. Dr. Wilkinson was my first doctor in about 87 or 88. Unfortunately, the service being offered now is woeful. I have phoned at 8 a.m. every day for a week. Between 8 and 10 the recorded message says all their lines are busy then they hang up. After 10, you are put on hold for 40 minutes, only to be then told that there are no more appointments and you will have to ring back tomorrow.
Time to head to Moir.

Absolutely shocking it takes weeks to get an appointment more chance of winning the lottery than getting through at 8am and now it just tells you the queue is full

Wanted to book an appointment to get a new prescription for my asthma. It was difficult to get through. Requested a call back but nothing. Finally got through at 12noon, the receptionist said can’t help, no more appointment time. Need to call again tomorrow. I’ve asked this is the only way to get new prescription! NO ONE CAN HELP.

Pressing 8 and the call back service does not work. Was 37 in the queue when I called, decided to press 8 as I could carry on working. Call came through but was ended when asked to hold to be connected! Would never trust using it again.

Impossible to get through from 8am. They say to call at that time to speak to a doctor, however the line either just doesn’t connect and you get cut off, or you can be on hold waiting for 10+ minutes and then get cut off randomly. I have questioned this to the receptionists before and the reply I got was when the phone lines get too busy the calls disconnect. What? Not very helpful. Also agree with other reviews in regards to staff being rude, genuinely do not care about patients health, it’s just a conveyor belt for them watching the clock until closing time. Rang one morning and got through, but got told the computer system was down so they couldn’t book any appointments (fair enough), told to call back in a few hours time which I did, then got told there was no more appointments and had to call the morning after. How on earth are people supposed to get sorted with their health queries? The intro on line states they are still extremely busy, whenever I have been I’m in person it’s like a ghost town! No one to be seen, barely any patients waiting. I was even once sat in the waiting area with no one else there, called the surgery to see what the receptionist did, and they did not even answer and got cut off. Absolutely abysmal. When I was pregnant and was seeing my midwife at the practice, even she expressed how shocking the care is there. Honestly have no words.

While I fully understand the difficulties faced still by GP surgeries. I have found it nigh on impossible to get the care I require. I have tried to book an appointment for Friday afternoon, any one not the one upcoming, but have been told they are booking on the day and to phone at 8.00am.
This is not possible as I start work at 5am and finish at 6.00pm. I do however finish at 13.00 on a Friday hence the request.
I am at my wits end and my doctors seem shut to me.

Called at 4:19pm for a doctors call back in regards to my elderly dad who isn't well.
Received a call back at 5:28pm.
Was triaged on the phone with questions, I sent photos of the problem, diagnosed immediately and by 6pm I was on my way to the pharmacy to collect antibiotics and pain relief.
Absolutely brilliant service, not to mention the service I receive for my own health and your amazing work with all of the Covid vaccines.
Thank you.

I provide 3 stars as couple of doctors there and one nurse took time to actually talk to me and explain the problem. Main doctor of this surgery and practice manager have very poor bedside manners. People calling surgery are not there to annoy you. We are calling because we have a problem that should be looked into by first point of contact which is GP not A&E. They are stretched enough. I think the worst thing is that they don't actually care about reviews on google and not going to improve anything (sigh)
