My review, as with many others, pertains to the reception staff and phone system. I've been a patient here since moving to Cambridge 7 years ago and have generally been happy with the doctors here, though I've not seen one in months and now dread the thought of calling for an appointment even if I were unwell, any call now takes minimum of an hour waiting on hold before getting through to someone. They can blame Covid all they want, but 2 years on that's getting a bit tired and personally I noticed the service diminish not at the height of Covid but rather around the time they did an office refurb, put in a new (often faulty) phone system and hired some new (rude and unhelpful) receptionists. They also no longer bother replying to emails, it seems they don't even bother checking the practice emails anymore. The last two times I've needed a repeat prescription filled, it's slipped through the cracks on their end, leaving me to scramble last minute to get the medication which I had requested via email a week earlier. I'm currently pregnant with my first child and now feel an urgent need to switch practices, as doing something as simple as even trying to make medical appointments now feels like an impossible task at this practice.

We was not happy with our experience with this surgery due to the fact that my friend ask nicely if I could accompany her in her appointment and the receptionist told us to wait outside which then lead to her slapping the door shut and closing the window behind us, leaving us outside. The receptionists are not friendly or welcoming.

I have been using this surgery for 5 years - through the pandemic and 2 pregnancies.

Petersfield is an exceptional GP practice. Every single person from reception to nurses to doctors clearly goes above and beyond to be friendly, calming and helpful.

Most importantly, the doctors here LISTEN. They don't fob you off or dismiss any concerns but always investigate every avenue promptly and thoroughly. My 2 year old's anxiety about doctors was immediately overcome by her amazing experiences here.

They also kept going miraculously well during the pandemic - including out of hours phone calls - and do their best to get you a same day appointment.

Doctors have a rough time of it at the moment but in spite of that these guys are a breath of fresh air.

I SWEAR TO GOD this people wanna kill you, you go in there and they ignore you....then they make you like 4 appointments one after another and ask you 100 bs things without even seeing the Doctor
The only logical explanation is that they are RACIST, stay away from them, don't ever register with them.
They are playing games with peoples lifes.

Worst GP ever! I am new to Cambridge and had a pretty bad medical condition. When i tried to registered the GP here, the front desk told me I needed to wait for two week. Even I have made it very clear that I have been suffering from my throat issue badly and need prescribed medicine, and I physically come in and ask over three time to see if the process can be speed up, the only response I got is “we are busy and it will take up to 2 weeks, if it’s urgent please go to emergency room”. No emergency room will treat a terrible sore throat, and I have all my document ready and it literally takes less than 5 minutes to put my file in the system. How irresponsible it is as a medicinal professional? It’s such a disgrace for a medical professional when you are putting someone’s life in danger.

I just started at this surgery and the one receptionist is extremely rude and unprofessional. The other asked me why I need an appointment in a room full of people.

At least the nurse was nice. I don't know about the physicians, since it is almost impossible to get a proper appointment. They still seem to do everything over the phone.

I don't know why they choose to employ such bad reception staff because the rest of the staff seem alright.

I have been a patient at this surgery for over 20 years. I came in for a routine blood test yesterday but felt extremely unwell whilst waiting for the appointment. Receptionists, the Nurse and GP were all incredibly kind and helpful. Shame on the bad reviews! These people are humans working so hard and putting themselves on the frontlines for patients. Our NHS is under stress but we are privileged to have it! The job description is one thing but all of these people went several steps higher for me. Complete respect and many thanks!

I’m a high school student and have never paid for medical

Receptionist: Here’s your medicine. Do you usually pay for them?
Me: no never.
Receptionist: ok. You know you have to pay for your medicine.
Me: err okay.. (took out my card)
Me confused and about to tap my card onto the machine: wait but I thought the NHS is free.
Receptionist: oh are you a full time student?
Me: yes.
Receptionist: oh okay you don’t have to pay for them.

It’s weird why don’t he ask if I am a full time student after knowing I’ve never paid for medicine..
