Beautiful little hidden gem not far from Leicester/Melton Mowbray. Upon entry they have placed some cute little maps/nature hunt for the kids to tick off plants and animals as they venture around the site. No dogs allowed so it's clean and spotless!!!
We went on a Sunday afternoon only passed three people was amazing!

It's nice and quite not to many people know where it is, with all the wildlife and different paths to take can keep the family entertained for hours

Great Place and also nice to see there are no dogs allowed as sadly dog mess is a huge problem locally.
Plus my family are not huge dog lovers so its nice to be able to walk around dog free!
Anyway this is a great place for kids.
There are some nice benches to sit on also
Fab place and a hidden gem

First visit and found it very peaceful. A shame the bird viewing areas were a little worse for wear along with lack of bird feed available. Will revisit again.

A lovely reserve with a wide range of habitats including old Quarry, woodland and grassland.
Can get a bit busy on weekends at the Quarry end of the reserve at least but is lovely and quiet any other time.
The wildlife Trust manage it well and leaflets are provided at the entrances.

Paths are decent but can get muddy and is definitely not recommended for wheelchair users because of this.

Finally, dogs aren't allowed into the reserve which reduces the disturbance to wildlife in my view.

Beautiful scenery, lots to see nature wise their is even Fossils to find and see. You can even gaze into the mines and if your lucky you may see the bats nesting.

Parking is available along the sides of the grassy areas.

No toilets or cafe unless you travel a little ways down to the village itself.
