Good choice of walks and cycle rides from here, although if you are new to the area make sure you have a decent paper map as all the tracks can look the same after a while, and mobile signal coverage can be patchy. In summer I usually have to give directions to lost cyclists at least twice a week! Car park is closed from around October to March.

Really nice spot. Better for cycling than walking. However if you're in foot, turn left from the car park through the trees and there is a path that follows the fence and it is a lovely little walk.

A long mucky track with pot holes to get to the car park.
Too many dogs in the area.
Probably not go to that area car park again.

Free parking. Miles of forest paths to follow. Dog friendly. Parking at Tiley Road car park of Standing Hat car park is full (or closed, as it is for maintenance until 26th March 2021).

Lovely place, ideal for a quiet family day out whether you're just sitting around relaxing (note, there are no picnic benches here), cycling the many well paved fire tracks through the forest which have an ideal access point adjacent to the car park or walking in the forest. In dry weather the access road can get a bit dusty but that's the same anywhere in the forest. It's about a 25 minute walk into Brockenhurst with its pubs, cafes and other shops.

9/11/21 Lovely place with lots of tracks to walk, but please be aware the track leading to Standing Hat car park has a single bar gate, just past the first car park, which can be closed and padlocked shut. This is exactly what we found had happened when trying to leave the car park this afternoon between 2:30 and 3pm! Even some locals were perplexed the gate had been locked. Be warned!!

Good walking in the wet months as the paths and really good, so no need for wellies.

Really nice walk with gravel paths. Lovely fresh air and beautiful scenery. Fair sized car park. Would recommend.
