Great hidden gem for the kids.Small community woodland with plenty of walks on a level so also good for grandparents. Great all year around. In the summer when it's dry the river level drops enough for the kids to paddle with great clear water. Great place for a picnic and you can easily spend a whole day here. There are a few dens created by the kids so plenty for those budding soldiers or explorers to burn off that energy. No bonfires or BBQs allowed due to fire risk. Please respect the site and don't chop down any plants or trees, this is entirely run by volunteers. Parking limited to about 5 spaces on the road outside
Top tip 1 - Park in the park and ride during the day but remember this does close at the end of the day. Alternatively you can park in the access road to the park and ride or in Bishops Hull.Access from Bishops Hull is down Neverclay lane through the public footpath after the care home that gives access over a bridge over the river to the site.
Top Tip 2 - If it's rained recently bring wellies as it's on a flood plain so it gets muddy very quickly.

Tucked away, a hidden beautiful hidden gem with a river and lovely plant life. Ruined in places by lazy dog owners leaving mess or even more weirderly, mess in a bag. Just pick it up, there are numerous bins.

I went for a walk here today with my little dog,it was really beautiful and very pretty. Parking can be tricky but if you drive a little further up the lane there is another layby that is less busy. Its a peaceful place by the River and plenty of benches to sit and watch the birds....My dog loved it😊

Lovely nature reserve. It's a bit muddy at this time of the year and I can't see how anyone with limited mobility could access it. The views along the Tone are spectacular. The wood itself is well managed and a joy to walk through. There's a picturesque little footbridge that was closed to the public at the time of writing but looks like it should offer a unique set of views of the Tone when re-open. It's great for dogs if you don't mind them coming home plastered in mud.
