Absolutely outstanding service from all of the team at Sims. I purchased 2 pairs of varifocal Tom Fords with amazing quality lenses - infinitely better than my supposedly "high-end" pair from a well known High Street chain. Sims also upgraded my original specs with new lenses - the improvement was remarkable. I have no hesitation in recommending Sims to anyone seeking a professional, tailor-made, high quality service!

Don’t know what the 1 star is talking about??! I can’t recommend them enough! They’ve never flogged glasses to me that I didn’t need. I’m glad my friends recommended me this family owned opticians who take great care from the examination through to my glasses!

Honestly would not go anywhere else, I have used Sims optician for over 40 years. My prescription is higher than average, and I have required glasses all my life.
From Reception to Optician to Quality Selection. Service is excellent & nothing is too much bother. You cannot do any of this online - believe me.
As my spectacles get a hard life, they have been excellent in aftercare - adjustments/servicing over the years and realistic when replacement is required.
Not many Independent Businesses like this these days

My wife and I have been using Sims for our eye care for the past 5 years but after my recent experience we will not be continuing with their services nor will we be recommending them as we have done in the past. We have purchased at least 7 pairs of varifocals from them over the past 5 years and they have all been made using our own frames. Despite the numerous warning signs around the shop and the optician warning me that the cutting in of new lens to my old frames was undertaken at my risk, it was a very bitter pill to swallow when they informed me that they had broken my expensive frames. The frames were 4 years old but are available to buy new as they are very popular. However, it was the service after this event that left me feeling hard done by. At no point did they offer to help me source replacement frames or offer any type of goodwill gesture to keep me as a customer. They did suggest another pair of frames that the lens would probably fit into (very ugly and old fashioned) but the only one benefiting from that suggestion would have been Sims as they would not have lost the sale of the lens. With so many opticians out there it is all about customer service, something that Sims definitely need to improve on.
