Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - Eltham

This Review is for Ben, who not only was professional but incredibly friendly and personable. He was very honest about which glasses suited me and which didn’t and I came away feeling happy with my choices. For someone so young he is knowledgable and concise and I couldn’t praise him higher! :)

Hi it turns out that I am allergic to the silicone nose pads so they changed them for some others. I left it for 24 hours and still the same problem itchy nose where the pads sit. So went back today to try and get it sorted out they gave me new plastic frames. I showed them the ones I want on my phone using there site. They appeared not really wanting to swap the frames. Lenses work great frames not what I wanted.

The eye examinations by the doctors are very professional and nicely done.
I had issue with the lenses I was recommended, and they changed them with the ones more suitable straightaway.
But another problem which I did not realise before arose. It was my first pair of glasses and the frame I chose was not my size but a smaller size. I’d expect them to advice me on the size of the frame as well. Now I am wearing glasses I’ve ordered elsewhere and specsavers’ is a spare one now.

I would have given Specsavers a 5* review. But unfortunately because of its poor customer service regarding returning phone calls over a week. I've only given them 3*. It needs to improve a lot before I give them 5* reviews.

Was seen 10 minutes early for my earwax removal appointment, staff could not have been more affable and helpful. Procedure thoroughly explained and carried out quickly and painlessly. Embarrassing to see the amount of wax suctioned out, but felt so much better afterwards ! Would definitely recommend the team here, excellent customer service.

In September I was frustrated at having to pay for an eye test again despite taking a recent one from Spain. More importantly, the new lenses in the two sets of glasses I bought after yet another eye test are no use to me because I am both long and short sighted and when I work, I can neither see the computer well, nor my students across the room, nor what I write. I have to wear them so far on the end of my nose to read that they fall off.. Constantly. The previous prescription was better but they insisted on the new one. I hope they can remedy this on my next visit to Eltham in December. I made an eye test appointment for Dec 16th. Clearly, I need bifocals but this was never suggested to me.
On a positive note, the Carribean lady who helped me pick frames was marvellous and they arrived in time for collection before I left.

I have always found the staff here to be excellent and dedicated to ensuring that the mundane experience of purchasing glasses and contact lenses is carried out in a professional and friendly manner, providing an excellent service whether it's the initial purchase, or aftercare.... Would recommend...👍

They don’t offer contact lense recycling, despite the Specsaver website stating that it is available. If you don’t do it, fine. Don’t lie about something to improve in an attempt to improve your image.
