Fantastic service and very friendly, helpful staff. Abdul the optometrist was really cheerful and friendly explaining everything to me as he did the different tests. Will be recommending them to others.

I wrire this review on behalf of my boyfriend.we both visited Byfields after having a lot of unsatisfactory conversations due to his specs not being right. They suggested varifocals which were completely wrong when made and as a coach driver he found them dangerous and couldnt wear them experiencing headaches and dizziness.Three attempt later and flitting back to bifocals he resigned to try them. Mayfield took £999.00 from my boyfriend at the first visit before they began on this journey but failed miserably to get it right. He lives quite a long way from the shop and in between had a heart attack with added stress. In short the glasses remain in their box and he wears his 5 year old specsaver ones. The issue made him so ill he never persued it but we both angry that he wasted such a lot of money. I wanted to take the matter up and if necessary to court but my boyfriend Mr Lewis was ill so I didn't. Complete waste of money and has to wait a year for another eye test. He won't be going back there. I suggested they give his money back but they ignored my plee and made them in to bifocals. Completely wrong again .& he can't see through them at all as I said they remain in the box.

Eye test available next-day. Decent range of frames and lenses. Ordered 2 pairs and turned around in 3 days. Great customer service and nice touches- ‘bottomless’ lens cleaner! And… on the high street. Impressed.

The best opticians I've been to the eye test was the best and the after care is so good never had that with any other optition

I visited Bayfields in Newcastle under Lyme this week. I have to say the service was excellent.
The optician was very friendly and listened to my concerns. She took her time with the test and I didn’t feel rushed.
When I chose new frames, the dispenser was excellent and checked her measurements very carefully to ensure I would be happy with my new spectacles.
I can highly recommend Bayfields as I experienced an excellent standard of service.

I had been a regular client of NEWBOLDS from 1985 until they were ‘taken over’ by Bayfields a few years ago.
I was sad to see NEWBOLDS close as they had been very good however I decided to continue with the new company......
I have to say that I am very pleased to have done so.
The service I have received from them has been first classs.
The lady optician I see has been very kind, considerate and professional.
She takes the time and trouble to explain and give advice where required..
I am more than happy and would recommend this company.

Amazing place, staff are friendly, the place looks tidy clean and smart, they have a good range of affordable glases, aswell as the top end designer ones. Really nice place to be, will definitely be going here again in the future without doubt :)
