Specsavers Cwmbran has always provided me and my family with excellent service for both glasses and contact lens. During the past few years I was advised that I had a Cataract developing in my right eye. The situation was deteriorating quite quickly and I was placed onto annual eye tests. In recent months the condition worsened and it was impacting on my quality of life.
I received fantastic support from Specsavers who supported me to treat the problem. Detailed examinations were undertaken and a referral letter issued for my Doctor. I opted to receive treatment privately due to extended waiting times for NHS services. My cataract operation was quickly completed at St. Joseph’s Hospital by Mr. M Majid and I am delighted with the result.
Following my surgery Specsavers stepped in yet again to carry out detailed tests to measure my improved vision to provide feed back to my Consultant. Every thing was extremely positive and my vision is now brilliant.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Specsavers Cwmbran and its fantastic team for their support during my recent work and for the service I have received from them for many previous years……thank you so much.

What can I say? The left foot clearly does not know what the right foot is doing. As a person with partial deafness, firstly it is impossible for me to understand what anyone is saying. Every person who works there, presumably vaccinated, therefore supposedly protected refuse to remove their ridiculous and ineffectual face masks. I can only conclude that this lack of daily oxygen intake has affected their ability to think straight. This is now completely unnecessary and infuriating from the perspective of a customer. I went into the shop to collect replacement contact lenses for my son yesterday and was told he needed yet another eye test from the contact lens department. His last one was 8 months ago. At the time of ordering we were told we merely had to pop in to collect them. They could not find the said contacts despite looking three times. Eventually, they found them in the same place the lady in reception had been looking. They made us late for our next appointment and really need to up their game. If they spent more time focusing on opthalmology instead of covid regulations they would be better equipped to deal with customers. Not happy at all.

I love Cwmbran Spec Savers! So much better than Newport! The staff are so much more friendly..! My eye test checkup wasn’t rushed…I was interested in tinted glass lenses… I was helped by Karen originally and she was so helpful. I told her I would come back in a week… I went in today with my friend and Karen had a day off. I panicked a bit.. but a lovely blonde girl called Emma just scooped me up and made me feel sooooo less anxious. Emma was so patient while I was choosing colours as I can be really indecisive! We had a great laugh together and Emma made the whole experience anxiety free .. so I just wanted to mention her. Great asset to the branch. X x x. X love Sally

My 7 year old daughter went from superb vision to -2.75 vision in 14 months. After being terrified to death I went to getva second opinion. She is a +0.75. Incompetent is one thing, dangerous Incompetence is another.

Took my 4 year old for her first eye test after some concerns were expressed by her school. Charlotte Smith was absolutely outstanding with her and was very good at simultaneously explaining everything to me. All staff members were brilliant with children and she absolutely loved her first experience at the optician. Truly exceptional service!

My glasses are great but, even better was later. I took my glasses in with a scratch, the first lady told me I'd have to live with it. 2 weeks later I went rback and saw Chaelotte in Cwmbran and she was extremely helpful and managed to take out the scratch for me. In these troubled times I wouldn't have been able to afford new ones. She was great 👍
